I have been working at Target

      Pros

      1. Target is really flexible with students that need to go on LOA for school. 2. Managers are nice after they are broken in (see cons) 3. most of the people that work at target are also really down to earth 4. if you can avoid the cons, and be smart about your work, you can actually find time to slack off and socialize without getting caught

      Cons

      1. if your store gets a new manager, beware because they will try to establish dominance by telling you to do the job you've been doing for the past 'x' amount of years the "Proper Way". 2. drama, drama everywhere. If you give news to someone, expect the whole store to know the next day. 3. Everyone talks about everyone behind their back (good or bad) just accept it and move on. 4. (this should really be number 1)....

      Advice to Management

(to some, not all) please, actually do work. Don't be that group of managers that walks the store endless amounts of times telling people to work harder. Also, don't be that group of managers that huddles near the check lanes telling jokes, and laughing while everyone busts their butts for you.

I worked at Target for less than a year

      Pros

      Good work environment among co-workers

      Cons

Night shift, 10pm - 5am ; one would think that you can do other activities next morning, but the work is very physical and one ends-up pretty exhausted to anything other than to sleep till 12 noon, after getting home at 6am.

      Advice to Management

It is not up to the employee t find a replacement to fill the shift if he for a personal reason cannot attend to work. That's HR's role.

I have been working at Target part-time for less than a year

      Pros

You get free food during holidays. They order tacos and spaghetti. The environment is pretty nice. Everyone is positive and there's a good culture of treating the guests with respect and willingness.

      Cons

Some of the managers are arrogant. If you're not friends with them right off the bat, or if you're just not the type to befriend you managers for whatever reason, some of them will down upon you. Haven't worked at other retail chains but where I work, managers try hard but aren't very sincere.

      Advice to Management

      PAY MORE! Humble yourselves... :)
