I have been working at Target full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Competitive pay, flexible schedule, casual work environment. They are generally good about scheduling within availability and provide good training to new team members.

    Cons

Lack of potential for advancement, zero overtime, occasionally incompetent leadership. Having just gone through a store level realignment, many people find themselves adjusting to new roles as their previous titles and teams have been eliminated.

    Advice to Management

Hands on leadership is a must in this industry. To earn respect one must roll up their sleeves and jump into the workload rather than hide away in an office all day.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits are good, especially the 401k

The pay is good, depending on the position. If you’re just a cashier or a cart attendant then it’s great, but if you’re a TPS (security) be ready to get paid almost the same for getting spit on, dealing with ALOT of homeless people and not having your leadership to back you up when you need it.

    Cons

Career advancement, you won’t move up. If you do, you’ll be waiting for years. I have plenty examples including myself.

    Advice to Management

Look into promoting from within. It will definitely help with retention and will help with keeping employees happy.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Discount, short commute, friendly coworkers

    Cons

Full time gets 8 hrs one week, 4 hrs the next. Won’t let work in other departments.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employee well being and less on your performance bonuses. Be open to employee suggestions.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Large company with many opportunities. Great employee benefits.

    Cons

Has the large corporate feel among the individual teams. Company values do not carry through to how all team members are treated.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Culture, Diversity, employee engagement, Fall National Meetings are fun and engaging

    Cons

Lots of politics., lots of unnecessary meetings. Leadership seems to control less than what is perceived. Hard to transfer out of a department without a very large amount of networking
