I worked at Target part-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Good training process and ability to work in different departments -Decent pay -Chill environment

    Cons

-Inconsistent scheduling hours. Maybe it was just me, but some weeks I worked lots of hours, and some weeks I worked a lot less. However, you can always talk to your ETL to get more hours.

    Pros

    Cons

Target does not care about you. If you show up for your shift, your reward is having to work for those that didn’t show up.

    Advice to Management

Fire the people that constantly do not show up.

I have been working at Target full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some of the people there are cool, the breaks and meal time is fair.

    Cons

no communication between leasers and managers, will ask you to do tasks that cant actually be done in a short amount of time, you get sick hours but they dont want you calling off, one call and if they are petty can write you up.

    Advice to Management

need to change that sick hours clause because no other company ive worked with with has ever counted sick hours against you or change sick hours to cash out hours.

I worked at Target part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Employee discount was a big plus. Store management was very nice and helpful especially HR. Were very understanding when I had a death in the family.

    Cons

Bad training, discouraged from reporting on the job back injury. Was often sent home after only working a few hours because of payroll budgeting. Scheduling tool was awful, my hours were super messed up

    Advice to Management

Increase level of training so people actually know what they're supposed to do. Scheduling tool needs to be updated, my requests for fewer hours never went through the system & I ended up working 30+ hours while going to school full time (I wanted to work like 15)

I have been working at Target part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

If you would've asked me a year ago i would've had something to put here.

    Cons

"Expect More, Pay Less" is the way they treat there Team Members

    Advice to Management

Be fair and respectful to all Team Members not just the favorites. Reason why Targets turnover rate is so high at some stores.

I have been working at Target part-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The hours are flexible, if you have school, they will work around it. Some of the managers are okay. You get time and a half on certain holidays.

    Cons

Hours go way down during the beginning of the year, about 10-12 hours a week! Also, most managers pick favorites, and promote from there.

    Advice to Management

Target is beginning to be way to guest focused to where the employees don’t matter anymore, used to be a great company, now it’s all politics.

I have been working at Target part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Management has been helpful with any problems that come up. My coworkers are great overall. They are pretty flexible with my school schedule.

    Cons

Management fails to communicate with me fairly often which can be frustrating. Hours and scheduling can be inconsistent at times.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to better communicate its intentions to team members. Whether it be a change in scheduling or a change of work center, all details should be discussed.
