I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Its easy just head into target and ask the Target employees for assistance and they help you with everything.

    Cons

Sometimes some of the workers don't got time to help you in the checkout because they're done with their shifts or they're just to lazy to help.

    Advice to Management

Once you enter Target and your looking for a job, Head to the Guest Helping Desk and they'll ask nicely if you want it to be online or want it to be hand-written, Its very simple, almost every position is very easy, except for backroom you need to know how to use warehouse tools and vehicle for manufacturing, but other than that it is really Great. They give good pay for Certain Positions.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's great working in a corporate structure where they actually adhere to their policies, they'll work around your school schedule, and you get 5-10% off at any target.

    Cons

Guest interaction can be extremely draining, the pressure to get people to sign up for redcards is the reason why most cashiers go, the redcards goals are very unrealistic and they don't offer enough incentive to convince people to sign up.

    Advice to Management

Remove redcard goals from cashiers and let them do their job by providing a unique guest experience and connection without trying to sell them something. Redcard incentives are also inadequate, guests get remarkably better perks with other credit cards that trump the redcard's 5%, free shipping, and extra 30 days on returns.

I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Leaders are very positive and cheerful.
    Cheerful workplace.
Team Members can easily befriend others
    Very good flexibility hours
     Open minded

    Cons

Little chance to improve skills and change to other work areas within the store.
Some GSTL and ETL feel empowered they sometimes misuse their authority.
Because of their authority they seem above those who are below their tittle and subconsciously belittle other team members

    Advice to Management

Remind ETLs and GSTL to be inclusive and not to belittle others regardless of their title.

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good hours, nice employees to work with and the pay was okay. I got $10.50/hr for starting there as a cashier.

    Cons

If you're pregnant they don't let you sit on a stool (even with swollen legs and feet) unless you have a doctors note stating that you have to be allowed to sit. At the time I was working two part time jobs and the stool was taken away from me. And I got "in trouble" for using it when I was tired of standing and it hurt to stand.

    Advice to Management

Allow pregnant women to sit without a doctors note. It seems ridiculous to me that you need to have a doctors note to just take a break every now and then on a stool. We stand back up when customers walk over to us. Some people don't have good insurance to just go back into the doctor's office just to get a note for their work place.
