I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The workplace isnt too hard but can get repetitive after a few months. My Team Leads and ETL's actually aren't as bad as many seem to say they're. Every once in a while they will teach and train you on another section.

    Cons

The pay is not good at all only earning minimum wage. What really sucks for hardlines is that cashiers have a chance to win giftcards if they get a bunch of red cards but us hardlines really dont have any type of chance to get any little reward.

    Advice to Management

Talk to each other more! Most time different team leads send to do an assignment but then another team lead will send you to do something else.

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

Work with good people in other departments.

    Cons

Management does not appreciate their employees. Rather than giving hours to those who need it, they keep bringing in handfuls of new people, and then take hours away from long-time employees.

    Advice to Management

    Learn to appreciate your employees.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My superiors were amazing... the overall atmosphere and knowing the store so well, as I am an extreme Target-girl, really made me feel like I was right at home.

    Cons

The discount wasn't that great, being that %10 was CA's tax. The weekend crowds were expected but back-up for the front lanes wasn't always called for and the place would be jammed in no time.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! Don't take employees for granted.

    Cons

Low pay, bad management attitude towards employees

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Most of the Team Leads care about you. Free lunch every now and then when the store is making sales. Pay is slightly higher than your average retail by 25-50 cents. Great job for students who cannot work 40 hours a week.

    Cons

They expect you to be available every day, but only schedule you for 2-3 days a week. The only time you will get more than 7 hours and 15 minutes a day is during Black Friday and Christmas. They hire too many employees on purpose. It is so that they can call people in to work if someone calls out. You are starved for work hours so when they ask if you can come in of course you will say yes.

    Advice to Management

Fight for your employees and get them more hours. Stop hiring so many people. Don't expect us to work so hard for you when you can't even give us work hours.
