I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The swipe shift was everything if you didn’t wanna work a shift someone could pick it up for you nice hours

    Cons

Sometimes the manager would take the job way to seriously

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly Environment and Staff. Felt comfortable working there as if I was there with my family.

    Cons

Unrealistic Expectations and they overwork you. I was specifically hired to work as a cashier but on any given day, I would be stocking shelves, rearranging inventory in the back, or even bringing in shopping carts, none of which was part of my obligations.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job of making sure you have enough employees working each shift. Having only one employee to work carts makes it a burden for us when he doesn't show up for a whole week.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly environment, nice co-workers, fun management, constant acknowledgement when you do something well. Cross training if you want to do something else other than your current position.

    Cons

Only the occasional rude customers. Some people do not like the RED card aspect of the job but it was never that bad to me, you will get the hang of it.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Team environment. Many co-workers were helpful. Ability to pick up additional shifts. Everyone had to work everywhere at any given time.

    Cons

Lack of respect on the team leaders part. Vey stressful. Insufficent pay and hours. Seemed to be more interested in profit than guest service.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging. Show respect to your team. Follow through with promotions, don't lie to employees.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I am treated well and the hours are flexible and I appreciate and use my employee discount on a regular basis almost all the time

    Cons

You are not going to get rich working retail, I think that goes without saying and sometimes customers can be rather unpleasant.
