I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Clean work environment.
    Very organized system.
    Benefits are fair.
Requesting time off is simple and easy.
    Decent opportunity for OT.
    Management.

    Cons

I don't believe there's much cons to working here. However if you don't finish your end of the day duties when the store closes on time, you must stay to finish them. The absolute worse time this happened was when we were to get out at 11pm, but didn't leave til 2am.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are full time you're eligible for benefits. They provide free food and beverages for employees on Black Friday. They give you prizes sometimes when you sign a guest up for a Red card.

    Cons

The computer grades your speed on each sale you ring up. If you are a cashier you are required to ask EVERY guest to sign up for a Red card, and if you don't ask every guest you will like be fired for not following the company policy. Also if you start out as a cashier it's nearly impossible to transfer to another department in the store.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Rising pay, flexible hours, good coworkers

    Cons

Not many chances for growth, heavy employee favoritism, company more willing to hire new employees than train current ones

    Advice to Management

Maybe believe in your employees once and a while.

I worked at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits including health, dental, vision, 401k match, time off, tuition reimbursement, etc. Take full advantage if you can! Really committed to career growth and development. Base salary and bonus is also extremely competitive for the industry.

    Cons

You give up weekends, holidays, and put in long hours. They say it’s 10 hour days, but that’s a good day! Very little opportunity to make vacation plans or travel during any peak seasons so the huge amount of vacation you build up is worthless.

    Pros

There are no pros to working here.

    Cons

Working for target is hell on earth. Pay is horrible. Managers are incompetent. They expect miracles when it comes to increasing efficiency, but give no authority to make any changes.

    Advice to Management

    Quit.

    Pros

You get to prioritize your work day. The coworkers were nice too.

    Cons

Management is unorganized and when they screw up they blame the associates.

    Advice to Management

Instead of bullying associates when you screw up. Do the right thing and own up to your mistakes. The leadership is unorganized.
