I loved my co workers and the other staff was very nice as well.
The pay sucks, but being around people who you genuinely get along with makes you want to come to work even more.
There are no pros here
When I worked at target I was there about 3 months before I quit. I was good at stocking the shelves with items from the stock room and they told me so very often. They had me training new employees within two months of my employment because everyone were slackers. When I left at the end of the day my socks would always have holes in them. I was the only person they had packing the boxes and putting them on the shelves and that is NOT a one man job. They will take advantage of you and smile in your face and act like they will try to ease the workload but they don't care. The employees with seniority are hog all of the equipment

Decent opportunity for advancement. Manageable workload. Most managers are competent and understanding. aside from some catty-ness the team generally gets along
Corporate is constantly undermining the executives and forcing the company to downsize to the absolute bare minimum. Cashiers are expected to move faster to compensate for this downsizing. The team is consistently undertrained. Turnover is so high that the people training the new-hires just started a few months ago themselves. Due to this, executives micro-manage the team because they cant trust them to complete tasks they werent trained for. This causes a clear resentment all around. The team leads (below executivces above team members) are caught in the middle of this. They are micromanaged just as bad as the team members but they are expected to do the same. At the same time those who show open contempt for the rules and deliberately disobey arent written up or fired.
Advice to Management
First and foremost train the team. then start a cycle of writing up and firing those who deliberately break rules. finally stop micro managing and trust the team to complete the tasks you've assigned them.

Great room to grow if you become friends with upper management
lack of communication, lack of maintenance. I was forced to work in an office without any windows where the ceiling was leaking from winder damage. Their way of resolving the issue was putting trash cans to avoid the carpet from getting wet. It was aweful
Advice to Management
Care about the staff's health

Good job to have over the summer in high school with flexible hours
You will have to work in areas your job description does not entail
