I worked at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

decent managers, though i was at a training store so there was a lot of senior staff turnover
good scheduling with school and other job

    Cons

you really had to push credit cards. also, discount is only 10%

    Advice to Management

keep it up but remember that retail level employees need some love

I have been working at Target part-time

    Pros

Co workers, good hours, good corporation to work for in general.

    Cons

Depending on which store you work at, the management can be inconsistent. My store manager and a couple of team leads had no idea what was going in their own departments or in the whole store. A couple of my team leads like to bully and play favorites.

    Advice to Management

Be in touch with your employees. A simple recognition and thank you can go. Long way. Listen to their concerns too.

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The discount. The one and only pro seemed to be the discount. Every other aspect of employment was simply mediocre at best.

    Cons

Pharmacy receives little to no acknowledgment or assistance from front end staff and/or management. Lacking an enclosure team work environment. No opportunity for advancement in pharmacy unless you want to become a pharmacist.

    Advice to Management

target Pharmacy has merged recently with CVS, I do not know how relevant this section is because I have never worked for CVS. I do believe that the lack of ability to manage pharmacy led to the merger.

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company gives you the tools to really take control of your business. You have the ability to really show growth in sales and to be "bold" with decisions as long as you can speak to them.

    Cons

Salary sounded nice until you truly realize its a retail business and you are working 50+ (not rare to be working 60-70 hours a week) hours weekly. All store differ, but it seemed to be the reoccurring event within stores. I love to work hard to earn money, but the lack of work and life balance really made things overwhelming. And it wasn't even the holidays yet.

    Advice to Management

Enforce within each store manager that if they are keeping assistant managers over 50 hours a week something is wrong. Managers should be motivated to finish all their tasks within a 8-10 work day, doing 12+ hours consecutively and something is wrong.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can work while going go school and they work well with your schedule most of the time

    Cons

hours vary greatly, supervisors do not back you up,

    Pros

Treats their guests respectfully. Team members were friends, some team members didn't even want to meet new team members or introduce themselves.

    Cons

Could have had a better compensation for what employees deserved. Keep more people hired, instead of laying off employees who do a good job at their job, instead of just slack off and chat with other employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep an eye out for those who complete their responsibilities, instead of just slack off and chat with other employees.
