I worked at Target full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Higher pay Organized company Impressive at first glance

    Cons

*Work on most holidays *Benefits kick in after 90 days *Two weeks starting vacation *No bonuses for non-exempt *Admins are not seen as part of the overall group, thus being non-exempt and not included in bonuses. *Management has you sit in a lot of unnecessary meetings, where you could be more productive elsewhere. *Set up to fail

    Advice to Management

*Admins sit in an overabundance of meetings *Start admins as exempt, invest in your support staff.

I worked at Target full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people that work at Target are amazing and they try really hard to maintain a positive and rewarding work environment The leadership strives hard to listen to their team members and will have their backs if needed Target expects you to work hard but they also want to have fun and will reward hard work with recognition

    Cons

Favoritism and nepotism is a problem among a lot of the higher leadership levels Once you are seen to be a problem by one leader, than there is nothing you can do and they will push you out of the company They promote internally quite frequently but only opportunities are within the retail ranks. Limited opportunity for anything else unless you moved to Minneapolis.

I have been working at Target full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

People are open to learning and always looking for what's new. No expectation at HQ to work evenings or weekends. Family and personal life matter to management

    Cons

Only 8 weeks paid maternity leave. Culture is that teams are slow to make decisions. Projects get hung up in the "noodling on it" phase.

    Advice to Management

Get competitive with your family leave policies!

I worked at Target full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

People, process, benefits, perks. After leaving Target I worked multiple places & I have to say there is no culture like Target's .. you feel your a part of a family.

    Cons

Too much corporate politics, too much promotins for non deserving/ non hardworking & that's do to toxic politics going on.

    Advice to Management

Value the hard workers VS the ones with status
