    Pros

    Fantastic opportunities abound!
The new head of design is taking this company into new and exciting territories!
The old dated management philosophy from years ago is long gone.
We are now a company to emulate.
It's very exciting what he is doing for us and I have peeked behind the curtain and the future is now so bright it hurts.

    Cons

There used to be a very long list here, now my future with this company is mine to create, grow and be very successful!

    Advice to Management

Please keep getting rid of the dead weight and hiring the right people to lead us!

I worked at Tarkett full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not many pros here. The new Solon headquarters is in a good location. It's a paycheck. There's free coffee and tea.

    Cons

There is no strategy, direction or accountability. Many in senior level management have very few direct reports, but are allowed to enjoy the perks of being an executive. You won't be trained or supported by your manager because they probably don't know what you do. Turnover is very high. They pretend to have succession plans and training opportunities, but in reality they only hire externally and often don't even inform employees of open positions.

    Advice to Management

Clean house with the current leadership. Start investing in your workers instead of the executives. Create a strategy and share it with employees. Learn how to communicate correctly.

I have been working at Tarkett full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay is good, 401k match and new building

    Cons

There is very little direction within departments, no strategy is ever shared with employees and you feel like you're on an island by yourself most of the time. There is also no path for advancement, even though it's something HR has said this is a priority focus, they continue to post jobs externally - never send out an internal notification - and most managers are hired from outside the company. You're guilted into staying longer hours and managers make you feel guilty for wanting to spend time with family, taking a vacation or even going to a doctor appointment.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. Value your employees. Share a strategy, vision and direction.

I worked at Tarkett full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Global Reach with some products. Business is still good. Some innovation but now over matched on sustainability

    Cons

Plain old Mismanaged Company. Managers are clueless about what your job is and how to do it, but they will micromanage every detail. Unethical and insular company culture used to control people. Nepotism abounds. Good-ol-boy network alive and well. Teams overworked and running in circles. Work-Life Balance out the window, all for customers. Yet, many of those customers do not pay on time.

    Advice to Management

Clean house of old management and nepotism. Bring in a clean slate of professional managers.
