I worked at Tata Consultancy Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They don't track Time and Bench status of eployees, you can enjoy on bench or can get best opportunity and favor if you know how to do 'sycophancy' /spooning.

    Cons

They dont speak the official language even in formal meetings and decision makings. They always speak the language their boss speaks, no matter if you feel isolated or loneliness .

    Advice to Management

Make English your official language and learn from your competitors IT companies how to be well process oriented and organised.

I worked at Tata Consultancy Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good salary and exposure to great technical talent. Many opportunities to learn a new skill set.

    Cons

They treat employees like potted plants for the most part. Their main interest is whether you are writing white papers or creating PowerPoint presentations with the intent to sell more product to clients. If you aren't then they have no use for you. Their attempts at employee engagement are pretty much limited to employee surveys and/or contests - most of which are geared for the offshore community.

It's very difficult to identify other areas at TCS where there are open positions as the internal posting system does not appear to list them all or provide adequate job descriptions. Changing to a different organization depends upon who you know and finding out about opening via word of mouth. I was often contacted by external recruiters about open TCS positions but could not find the posting on the internal job board.

Overly bureaucratic and completely disorganized. Even the simplest of tasks take multiple attempts before they are completed because they all require 4-5 levels of approval. You can never get a straight answer on anything. Very frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Utilize some of the services that you sell to clients to clean up your house internally.

Provide a better on boarding experience to employees. It 's struggle to understand the various organizations and how they integrate with one another. I found myself learning about other organizations only when they were brought in for cross-sell opportunities.

Try to foster a sense of community in NA and recognize that not everyone lives to work for TCS.
