I have been working at Tata Consultancy Services full-time

    Pros

Opportunity to rotate to other functions and accounts, opportunity to grow to a TL (even manager) role within a short span of time should you have what it takes.

    Cons

Overall salary is not in par with its competitors.
There is no clear career path.
Appraisals are more based on affinity rather than meritocracy.

    Advice to Management

Focus and invest on your top performers.

I worked at Tata Consultancy Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It really is hard to think of one. Some of the people I get along with but that is almost a given in any workplace this size.

    Cons

Poor recruitment process, poor salary, poor working environment, poor working hours, poor shift rota, fixation on the wrong things, looked to get out from day one.

    Advice to Management

Learn to lead not just manage.

I have been working at Tata Consultancy Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Private Medical insurance, above law vacations, Steady salary increase as long as you work for it + a monthly bonus that is based on your anual performance. Work hard and be patient (very patient sometimes) and your salary will increase, the catch again; is to be patient.

    - Great enviroment to learn new things (although you have to be proactive, no one will tell you to learn this or that), ie: you have unlimited access to lynda.com, safari books membership and a LOT of internal courses you can take. Also, TCS constantly provides training. If agreed with your manager you can take a certification you need or that can improve your role, Ie. Agile, and TCS will reimburse it, This also applies for diplomas or any other course as long as you justify it.

    Cons

-TCS has the lousiest HR department I have ever worked with. Onboarding takes forever and communication between operations and HR is 0. Dont you dare to ask a question about payroll, contract or raise a concern because it will take forever to receive an answer and the customer service they provide as an area is subpar.

    - Promotions are hard to get, my advise: if you want a better position just go ahead and take it, most project managers will try to keep you at your current position. Little transparency on how promotions are given is the common rule.

    Advice to Management

I know it's all about getting a bigger piece of the cake but learn to choose the SLA's a project will be able to comply with. Meetings, at TCS manager love meetings, dont spend too much time on them.
