    Pros

The company did come in and cut back costs as promised.

    Cons

Employees hired for other positions than where they actually were put. Promised rehire that never happens. Too much favoritism in lower level management.

    Advice to Management

Stand by your word to employees. Many customers at my location were unhappy with this company.

    Pros

The company led a successful acquisition of a government contract. They committed to cutting down fraud waste and abuse by contracted employees.

    Cons

During that acquisition, the company let go many employees and cut the pay for those they kept. They implemented finger print time cards, which account to the tenth of an hour, which makes scheduling a nightmare if one works nights/weekends/holidays and is on call. Their Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers were under so much stress, they lost potential long term employees.

    Advice to Management

Invest more into your employees. Don't be ruled so much by the net outcome.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Tatitlek Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I joined Tatitlek in early 2015 and am excited to say that I love my job and the company I work for (Tatitlek). The company is an Alaska Native Corporation, meaning that the profit it makes goes to provide for an under served population of shareholders (Native Alaskans), which makes me feel great about my job. I can see the difference the company is making, and I am not simply putting millions in some billionaires pocket. The staff I have encountered are industry experts and carry out their duties wisely and in a collaborative and cooperative manner. The leadership team is very strong and they care about their customers, employees as well as their shareholders. The culture understands work-life balance and they know their #1 asset is the employee.

    Cons

Many of the subsidiaries are in government contracting which means employees are only engaged for as long as that contract exists - which can cause turnover and unhappy employees. No one likes to be let go, but they all knew the possibility existed when they were hired.

    Advice to Management

Keep on the current course.... Looking good for 2016 and beyond!

I have been working at Tatitlek Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The reason I posted here is because I read that last review from someone at TwentyNine Palms.... No one has worked on that mission since mid 2014, so not sure why they would not be complaining about it...
Tatitlek, like other government contractors, has an ebb and flow of business and contracts that are defined by the government and may last only a couple of years. That will generate people being upset when they lose their job, but that is expected in government contracting space. Don't take a job under a government contract if you want stability and long term employment because it isn't going to happen.
My experience with Tatitlek has been great. In the past few months they have hired and promoted some heavy hitters into the senior management and are making positive changes to make sure Tatitlek and all of its subsidiaries are strong and competitive. They pay above market and have a good fringe rate and they always follow the SCA rules and pay on time and accurate.

    Cons

Some of the contracts are short term so you may not have long time employment if you don't work at the corporate level.

    Advice to Management

Good to see the new leadership and moving the company forward!

I have been working at Tatitlek Corporation full-time

    Pros

The boss was a friendly guy that was always helpful when things were going tough for us. He was also a personal friend that was open to some good laughs.

    Cons

Benefits leave a lot to be desired.

No upward mobility, very little cost of living adjustments, no bonuses and the health insurance wasn't very good.
