    Pros

The pay is competitive compared to other local Sous Chef jobs. Create daily specials & soups using in house ingredients. Growing company. Work/life balance is decent for managerial position. 2 weeks paid vacation.

    Cons

Benefits are not great, higher up managers are only concerned with meeting bonus. Bonus structure pay only really benefits GM and Exec Chef. IT department is terrible and cannot adjust simple requests in a timely manner or at all. Promote from within? Have had only 1 sit down to talk about individual performance yet we have weekly group meetings.

    Advice to Management

Challenge and teach loyal employees so they can feel like they are part of a bigger picture.

    Humble co workers
    Location
    Relaxed workflow
    Easy company to work for
    Unique concept

    Cons

    Erratic work schedule

Some concepts were poorly thought out
    Some degree of favoritism

    Advice to Management

Since working at the company's newer restaurants, I've enjoyed it so far. Although its really unfair to be scheduled only once a week

I have been working at Tavistock Restaurants part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Tavistock restaurant I work at as a Server is adamant about encouraging the sense of a "tribe" (more unique than "team"). I've only been here for a couple months, and as a newbie that makes a new mistake every shift, the staff still has been so helpful. They go out of their way to check on my progress and how I felt at the end of the shift. I'm never ashamed to ask someone how to fix a mistake. An enjoyable "learning experience"

    Cons

Just like any job inside a restaurant, it can get hectic and stressful

I have been working at Tavistock Restaurants part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a job. It still pays fairly well considering it's an all gratuity job.

    Cons

Tavistock just doesn't care at all for it's line employees. They have demonstrated this attitude towards us time and time again. I'f your considering a job with this corp. look elsewhere if you value your pride and self esteem.

    Advice to Management

Grow a pair Tavistock , and show that you do care about your employees and not just your bottom line.

I have been working at Tavistock Restaurants part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    It's employment. That's about it.

    Cons

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT: they take employees' tips, extort money from the staff, adjust employees' time cards, sit in the office when it's busy and they are consistently unable to execute proper hiring and training. The management at the corporate level is just as bad.

    Advice to Management

Stop breaking labor laws, stop being lazy, learn basic business skills and invest in REAL MANAGERS & RESTAURANT PROFESSIONALS.

I have been working at Tavistock Restaurants full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Colleagues are one of the best people to work around. Get to eat at the company restaurants every month. Learned a lot about accounting in the past 2 years.

    Cons

Company went through several changes in the years I have worked here. Salaries aren't the best but you learn a lot.
Currently outsourcing all accounting to Kansas.

    Advice to Management

Please learn to treat your employees like people and not robots.

    Pros

    Great area directors
Lack of great managers so advancement could be quick

    Cons

Company is downsizing, kitchens need too much foh involvement which takes away from managing the foh and the customer experience.
Lack of great managers so you will need to be able to work with some less than desirable tallent
Benefit package is not good, even worse if you carry a family plan of coverage
