I worked at TaxAudit full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Although I no longer work at TAC, I can tell you that this company easily has one of the best if not most competitive benefits package. They cover all health insurance for employees and their families ESOP/ 401k Annual bonuses Lots of parties Great culture Exceptionally talented colleagues Everyone is treated with respect There is no hand-holding when it comes to tech assistance The company promotes empowerment for their users Encourages knowledge sharing Stable company Always using cutting edge technology Office is really nice and has a gym Excellent location for food and amenities Unfortunately, due to the size of the company the reason I left was due to no room for upward mobility. I had amazing and supportive teammates. All the skills I gained from my tenure at TAC have translated into amazing opportunities as well and for that I am very grateful. I cannot comment on Jake Sindt as the CEO as he was not a CEO when I was still employed. However, Mark, Nancy, Dave, and Jane were amazing leaders. They really made an impact in what I look for in companies that I choose to work for. Not exactly a con, but an observation - for my role, the pay was a little below market value. However, with consideration to the whole package which includes benefits, ESOP, and retirement that could balance out the wage issue.

    Cons

There were some tension within certain departments among leads which led to passive aggressiveness. It was always a struggle to make everyone happy, deliver in a timely manner, and make sure things went smoothly. The company overall is very transparent, but some leads weren't as transparent with how they wanted to handle things. So if something wasn't done a certain way it felt like my teammates and I were walking on eggshells sort to speak. Hopefully, that has improved since my departure.

    Cons

    I worked at TaxAudit

    Pros

Benefits Some nice people work here.

    Cons

They are a company who cares more about themselves then employees. They over work you and give you more task to do at the same amount of pay. The managers there are rude and have no empathy for their employees. When employed there I was a full time student and they seen school as a distraction and told me to drop out. The managers talk bad about you to other managers and employees. Also to get anywhere in the company you have to know someone there. The managers also pick on employees until they drive them crazy to quit. During my employment there it made me become a angry person who hated life.

I have been working at TaxAudit full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits or no one would work here...

    Cons

Audit reps are micro managed and if you don't exhibit a positive attitude your fired for not a culture fit regardless of tenure, I witness employees with 66 to 15 years fired for this reason, company should be called cultaudit. Most all senior and secondary managers are related or close friends. The company is a cash cow and that's how management is able to get away with the poor, abusive working conditions...Most reps last a year or so before burn out...oh and as Rep there is no up ward career opportunities

It is very true that we are committed to maintaining a culture where our Core Values: 1) We care for people 2) We have a positive attitude 3) We are dedicated to the team, are practiced and celebrated. Unfortunately, there have been a couple of individuals over the years that chose not to fit into that culture and are no longer here. Other than the 45 reps we have hired over the last season, our Reps average 6.5 years of service with almost 20% of them over 10 years! Also, 7 of the 10 managers in the Audit Department have been promoted from within. We help people! (Our Core Purpose) and we love where we work!(Strategic Anchor)

    Pros

Outstanding leadership team who is constantly striving to improve the processes and procedures within the company all while maintaining a positive culture. They have ample opportunities for continuing education and career development training. They also allow flexibility in scheduling and also provide full medical and dental benefits for the entire family.

    Cons

It is really busy durning tax season. Be prepared to put in a lot of hours. However, they make it fun and they provide 100% support!

I have been working at TaxAudit full-time

    Pros

    Good medical and dental benefits.

    Cons

Toxic work environment. Management through control and fear. Tax professionals are treated like factory workers. Resource managers are given the power to control tax professionals. They even ask you when you go to the restroom and who was in the restroom. They swamped employees with so much work that employees are always catching up. There are days when employees are assigned 7 cases per day. Additionally, the workplace is like a call center where tax professionals have to answer constant phone calls from members. The company used up people then let people go. Don't work here. It's like an assembly line. There are better employers who appreciate your services.

I have been working at TaxAudit full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good pay, great benefits, generally wonderful people at the employee level. Very dedicated to training and excellent employee support.

    Cons

    - only one client. If we lose that contract the entire business goes belly up. HUGE risk. - massive nepotism - nearly every manager and leader is the spouse of child or parent of another leader, Chief, or employee. Good luck with promotions if you don’t have a relative higher up the chain. - org is very top heavy and disorganized so communication and interdepartmental awareness is really spotty. - new CEO is inexperienced, seriously arrogant, and not people minded. He’s a major risk to the company because he’s clearly out of his depth in the role. - the board is clearly planning their exit and have their golden parachutes. The rest of us are all at risk daily of losing our jobs if the CSAT or Net Promoter score falls too low. A small handful of bad audit experiences could bring down the whole thing.

    TaxAudit Response

    July 6, 2018Human Resources Manager

TaxAudit is a very employee-centric organization, where our core purpose is helping people. From protecting and defending our customers, to looking out for the well-being of our employees, to serving our communities, caring for people is at the heart of everything we do. Although it is true that at this time we have one major partner, this has been our business model for 20 of our 30 very successful years in business. We have and will continue to maintain a healthy, successful, and mutually profitable partnership for the long term by keeping our focus on our purpose and values. We do, as a smart and forward-thinking company, have succession planning in place to make sure we continue on indefinitely as a secure and successful company. We do not have a new CEO. TaxAudit encourages (even pays a referral bonus) all team members to refer their family and friends to the company if they know that they will be a great culture fit, will make a difference, and will have a significant, positive contribution. Therefore, we do have many friends and family working at the company. Out of 36 supervisors – executives and managers – only 4 are family members of leaders “higher up the chain.” All promotions, position changes, and compensation are based on merit, performance and contribution. If a family member is chosen to fill a position, it is because they have proven themselves to be worthy, dedicated, and the best person for the job.

    Pros

Excellent employee and dependent benefits! I’ve never come across another company that pours so much love and resource into their people. Personal growth is always being encouraged and with their tuition reimbursement program, it’s much easier to pursue your dreams. The culture here is also one of a kind and they do a great job in keeping only the folks who fit that culture so as to make sure everyone moves forward towards the same core values and goals. Lastly, the CEO is a real and caring human being, who even stopped in to say hi on the first day of training! I love working here!

    Cons

While the company offers awesome flexible schedules, the membership services department is not given this option. They do their best to accommodate but it’s the only flaw I can think of.
