Most Frustrating Job Of My Life

Sep 8, 2021 - Senior Inside Sales Representative in Eden Prairie, MN
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Reasonable life-work balance. Lower management cares, but can't change anything.

    Cons

Multiple layers of processes and systems have created a completely slow and inefficient company. Ir takes days to receive pricing and order status which results in poor service and angry customers.

    Ok place to work

Aug 20, 2021 - Production in North Mankato, MN

    Pros

The best part of my job are the people I work with. Health insurance cost can be reduced by a yearly wellness exam.

    Cons

Very low wages for years of service. People right off the street being paid the same or more than long term employees. If you’re in a production role be prepared to work your butt off to make production standards. You will live paycheck to paycheck.

    Taylor Inside Sales

    Pros

Assigned anywhere from 100-500 accounts. Good opportunity to grow business because there are so many. Wide variety of solutions offered by Taylor, so it's easy to pitch.

    Cons

KPI's are way too carefully monitored... Slim to no room for advancement opportunities unless you want to move into outside sales, but still, not great. Customer service support team is overall not great, though there are outliers.

    Pros

Unfortunately, my short experience there from an acquisition, was awful.

    Cons

No clear communication between employees and management. You never know what is going on in the company unless it has to do with sales numbers. Poor compensation plans for sales representatives. Poor handling during pandemic including forced leaves of absence and eventual lay-offs of highly qualified individuals with long tenures, with absolutely no compassion from management. Conference call lay-offs were very impersonal and cold. Accounts were handed to other sales people based primarily on who management perceived to be in more need of the job, pay, and benefits versus actual qualifications and tenure. This was the worst place I've ever worked.
