I worked at Teachers Federal Credit Union full-time

    Pros

    On long Island, good benefits

    Cons

Salaries are kept low, leave your creativity and self respect home. In fighting, they spy on everyone and like no one. The members are not the real beneficiaries it is the President and his cronies with big compensation, huge offices, cars.

    Pros

Benefits as a full timer only. Good amount of vacation one is given to employees. The trainers in hauppauge are extremely helpful.

    Cons

Not many benefits given to part time employees. Favoritism is shown throughout the branch. Not much room for advancement throughout the company...

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees a bit more. You're head/senior tellers may want to learn how to actually be a supervisor and act like they want to help their teller line out.

I have been working at Teachers Federal Credit Union full-time

    Pros

Some of the people are nice to work with.

    Cons

Long hours erratic work schedule very hard to have a personal life you don't know which day you have off or hours you work for the day until schedule which you get on Friday of every week. You get no raise unless you meet your sales quota for the year. The software system is not compatible with how the accounts are set up.

    Advice to Management

You need to integrate the correct system that corresponds with the software you tried to fit a square peg in a round hole to save money.

I worked at Teachers Federal Credit Union full-time

    Pros

Excellent Benefits great staff that care about the members and each other. Branches work together and help each other when short staffed.

    Cons

In fighting between departments. Known at all levels that dept heads and sr mgmt do not like each other. CEO and Sr Mgmt do not acknowledge staff when entering branches. AVP gossips about employees at all levels to anyone that listens. No regard for safety of staff during inclement weather. Instead of firing undesirable employees they are usually transferred.

    Advice to Management

Work together. Communicate. Be positive. Show empathy. Offer better compensation. Don't react be proactive. Respect each other

    Pros

May be opportunities for advancement if efforts are made. Relaxed atmosphere, dress down and casual attire accepted.

    Cons

Poor management with little understanding of how to provide work life balance. As a new employee, I was given a hard time taking time off for my wedding because I haven't accrued time. Lack of communication and lack of true member service.

    Advice to Management

Try enhancing employee engagement through providing a little flexibility and understanding. Control doesn't equate power or increase results.
