I have been working at Teachers On Call part-time

    Pros

Their absent management system is amazing. One can check the available assignments on their cell phones at any time and accept or reject the assignments. You can work at your own convenient time and select the school districts you want to work with. People you work with are supportive and listen to your concerns. They provide optional / paid trainings to those who want to improvise their skills.

    Cons

You don’t get assignments for 40 hours a week.

I have been working at Teachers On Call part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work when fits with schedule. Can refuse tough assignments

    Cons

Little to no respect from teachers or staff at schools. Men are hugely discriminated against. Arbitrarily blocked from school districts, and given no explanation, therefore one cannot learn from their "mistakes". Schools almost always prefer women for the teaching assignments.

    Advice to Management

    Treat employees with dignity

    Pros

You can work when you want, i.e. flexible schedule. Select the assignments that are most interesting. Get paid on a regular basis.

    Cons

Can't always work when you need to, i.e. sometimes there aren't any suitable assignments. No work in the summer, which can make things very tight. I don't care for early morning calls for assignments; greatly prefer knowing the day before.
