I worked at Teavana full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great to work with the community providing a healthful everyday luxury, while being able to sip tea all day. Highly energetic job, bot boring.

    Cons

Worked for this company for close to a decade. They fired so many of the GMs when the company was acquired by starbucks, myself included. Culture shifted from an extremely pushy sales oriented model to one that was more laid back. Let the old go during this transition.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent and forthcoming to those below. Be supportive and open to ideas from the managers who are in the stores on a daily basis and see the challenges specific to their market.

    Cons

If you aren't big on selling products, the competition to make sales may not be for you.

    Pros

great benefits, free tea on the clock, decent pay, fun work environment, great customers, tips, very easy job

    Cons

pressure to meet sales goal, gossip among employees, not many hours, other employees taking over your sale

    Advice to Management

stop putting so much pressure on employees to sell merchandise, don't have so many employees that there isnt enough hours to go around, hire more mature GMs and AGMs

I worked at Teavana part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free unlimited cups of tea daily, and discount on merchandise.

    Cons

Very competitive environment, as it is somewhat commission based. Coworkers tend to be nasty as a result. Unstable hours, and super short shifts.

    Advice to Management

To better deal with employee concerns.

I have been working at Teavana full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

To become a Tea connoisseur. Learn the in and out of

Tea. Including the background and history of Tea.

Educating Teavana consumers so they can learn about

the true meaning of Teavana. The daily challenges you face

as a Tea associate. Meeting objectives and sale goals as a

    partner.

    Cons

A bit of a downside about Teavana would have to be to

be the slight lack of training skills within the company. We

train collectively but not a lot of one on ones for the newer

hires. With that happening occasionally some partners lack

efficiency and knowledge of job responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

More one on one training to make sure partners feel

confident in their work and they would be able to be a

great example of management. Not only to corporate, but

to Teavana consumers. Consumers tend to judge an

establishment based on the team collectively.

    Pros

This has to be the only retail company on earth that promotes so quickly and really takes care of their employees. How many people can say they've met with the CEO of their company on more than one occasion, and I only work in a store, nowhere near the corporate offices.

    Cons

there are absolutely none. you work hard, you get rewarded, period.
