I worked at Teavana part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

DRINKS: You get free drinks while on-the-clock. GRATIS + DISCOUNT: You get discounts at Starbucks and weekly gratis (coffee beans, Keurig cups, etc.). ENVIRONMENT: Friendly and calm, for the most part, except for terrible management. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM through Starbucks. GOOD HOURS FOR STUDENTS.

    Cons

MANAGEMENT: First and foremost. The upper-level management does not take care of things properly by any means. I had serious issues at my store, which I reported, but nothing of value was done to fix these problems. People keep quitting in droves, so they seem desperate to keep anyone. STARBUCKS: Teavana is losing its uniqueness and sincerity. New teas aren't innovative and rarely have actual tea (white, green, black, oolong) in them. The product and marketing clash with the old earthy tones of the store as they orient toward millenials. POOR TRAINING: On all levels, and it is inconsistent from store to store.

    Advice to Management

Take the necessary actions against poor employees, ESPECIALLY if they need to be removed. Train all levels of management in LEADERSHIP SKILLS, because no one seems to understand what being a leader is in this company. Train managers and employees consistently. Keep Teavana legitimate, don't turn it into Starbucks' kid brother that sells leaf juice or whatever.

I have been working at Teavana part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a very cushy retail job, and I love what I sell. As long as the other team members are pleasant- which they are in my store, you'll have a great time working at Teavana.

    Cons

Besides the manager at my location being a little absent, I have no complaints.

    Cons

They push you extremely hard to stick to the script for selling tea. If you don't overfil a customers bag with a pound of tea even after they ask for 2 ounces they get upset.

    Advice to Management

Be less pushy and more flexible with your employees.

I worked at Teavana full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Smells great inside, you get a lot of training and product knowledge, 30% discount and discount at Starbucks, the more sales = more hours, great sales = great rewards : free ounces of tea, seasonal gifts from the company. Lots of hours. I love tea and learned so much from this job. There's a whole world to loose leaf you didn't know about!

    Cons

Pushy sales, repetitive dialogue, confused and rude customers, not flexible or considerate of holiday season. Sample cart was not fun, because people would stampede over, and sometimes other employees would steal your sales.

    Advice to Management

    Stop stealing sales
