    Pros

Tech Data is an amazing company to work for. Leaders have a clear vision of where the company is heading and does a great job at cascading those throughout the organization.

    Cons

Benefits are not completive with the market. Poor benefits package.

I have been working at Tech Data as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great intern pay.
    Ability to learn a lot.
The internship at Tech Data is a full program that allows you to meet CEO's and other upper level execs, as well as work on public speaking and professional development.

    Cons

The company is very conservative and can be a little dry for some.
Very dull building; all blue and grey.
    No shorts allowed?!! :(

I worked at Tech Data full-time

    Pros

You always received the sense of being needed and appreciated from upper management (executives and vice presidents.)

    Cons

Direct managers are way too overwhelmed and busy to pay attention to their employees/team members. They're not able to actually manage, but more delegate and expect results. Not a lot of training from entry level to this position; just shadowing at best. No core career development. Everything is a metric, nothing is by talent.

    Advice to Management

Actually pay attention to the people that want to be there and succeed; sometimes we want guidance from the experts. Not just expectations and drilling when we get there just slightly shy of the goal.

I worked at Tech Data as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

A ton to learn. Great company culture

    Cons

Pay well below industry average if looking to take a job after internship

    Advice to Management

Pay regular staff more other than that it was a great place and I enjoyed my time there.

I worked at Tech Data full-time

    Pros

Some of the hardest working group of people that I have ever worked with and are very committed to bringing a quality experience to their customers.

    Cons

Some of the support departments are not as committed to a quality customer experience as some of the customer facing departments. This can lead to a some of the frontline departments taking on top much of the support departments responsibles.

    Advice to Management

It appears that there are changes coming that could potentially be disruptive. Be sure to take a view of your people and prepare them for these changes. Not everyone will be ok with these changes.

I have been working at Tech Data full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Tech Data is doing wonderfully with employee benefits and corporate culture. It doesn't feel cutthroat, but rather collaborative.

    Cons

There are definitely politics at play when trying to move up in the company. It is harder for females to move up than males as well. And be expected to be paid $5,000 to $15,000 less than the national average for mid-range experience positions and it's not lack of qualifications. I hold a Master's degree.

    Advice to Management

    Pay people what they're worth.

I have been working at Tech Data full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Was acquired through a buy out by Tech Data. Transition seemed smooth and small disruptions to your day to day job.

    Cons

Haven't worked for Tech Data long enough to have cons.
