I have been working at TechStyle full-time

    Pros

I've been here for a few years (when it was still considered a start-up), and I've seen this place go through many changes--new building, new brands, new employees, old senior employees leaving, new HR department and policies, etc. And still, I would never want to leave this place!

Total flexibility, fun place, fully-stocked bar, cafe, and no dress code. I love the people I work with too.

    Cons

I know some people who think differently than me--just entirely depends on the department you're in and on your boss.

    Advice to Management

    Stay fab!

I have been working at TechStyle full-time

    Pros

Fun work environment, great co-workers, tech vibes.

    Cons

People have gotten run down. There's no clear direction, it's hard to feel like all of the hard work you are putting in is actually worth it.

I have been working at TechStyle full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

a lot of nice people work here. comfortable office environment, casual dress code

    Cons

my management is down right rude and hostile in speaking to me. The culture of being honest is interpreted as the right to be just down right rude and a bit nasty. This is evident as the behavior is demonstrated in the entire team.

    Advice to Management

lots of others love their managers. holding them all accountable to how we treat each other is important. People leave managers, not jobs. I am dissatisfied with both.

    Pros

Like most companies the rank and file employees are usually decent. There are even some managers who aren't incompetent.

    Cons

I've seen inept management at all Techstyle offices. Whatever it is about this company that attracts egotistical micromanagers will probably be its downfall. There are way too many talented employees leaving the company and I guess ignorance is bliss because management doesn't seem to understand what they lost. Also the HR is literally the most dysfunctional team I've ever seen at any company. They completely screwed up my onboarding, and just doing the most basic things with them is a huge hassle.

    Advice to Management

I don't have any advice to save this turd-show.

    Pros

    Parties that's about it
    Unlimited PTO (yeah right!)
Gym subsidies (good luck getting out of the office)
    Sample sales quarterly

    Cons

    Nepotism
VP's are out of their league (especially in Acquisition)
    Micromanagement
Legacy tech outdated (like 5 years behind the curve)
    Zero innovation
    Zero work/life balance
    Did I mention Nepotism?
    Big time turnover
Mass exodus of talent due to buddy system

    Advice to Management

Clean house and kick the losers in acquisition to the curb. There's a reason why you keep losing talent and have to hire executive coaches. Your VP's are out of their league. How much Valuable talent are you willing to lose while you protect your ilk?

    -Amazing Management
    -Individuality
    -Team building
    -Flexible Scheduling
    -Easy Going Atmosphere
    -Fun store incentives
    -truly cared about their employees

    Cons

The only con I can think of is the lack of hours at times for sales associates. Other than that, I had an extremely positive experience.

    Advice to Management

I am very pleased with the management I had, and the incredible women I got to meet. I am so sad that moving separated me from my team!

    Pros

there is free booze and a great patio

    Cons

many of the leaders are boys (not men), and promotions happen based on favoritism and politics instead of clearly demonstrated merit. I got tired of seeing it happen and knowing the HR team would do nothing about it bc they only care about protecting the company, not the people who have the courage to speak out when something is wrong.

I worked at TechStyle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Overall, the company culture is pretty progressive, especially for a retailer, because of CEOs' background in tech. Unlimited PTO, company closes on select Fridays in the summer, nice work space, smart talented people all around.

    Cons

It really depends on your manager and division. Seems like it is vastly different from team to team, which is quite a shame when the company seems to stand for one thing and your manager/dept relays something totally different. Everyone works incredibly hard, yet there seems to be a lack of trust and a lot of micro managing. It's also difficult to grow when you are not a favorite(aka a yes-man or suck-up). Pay also does not seem to be aligned to market or at least they try and get away with the lowest amount possible vs competitive compensation. Even though I really like the ceos, the company, and the vision, it's hard to see how this is sustainable long term. But again, it may just be in my division.

    Advice to Management

Please make sure managers and heads are in line with company standards and culture. Take time to hear from people on the ground. Continue to stay humble and open minded.

I have been working at TechStyle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I started with this company as a temp and later hired as a full-time employee. The culture is amazing, so much support from my team and a positive atmosphere to work in. There is no pressure or micromanaging, no dress code, flexibility, great benefits, awesome cafe with mostly healthy food and a bar. TechStyle also rewards employees with awesome company parties and team building events and activities. HR, managers and CEO's really listen to the employees which is amazing to me. I really I couldn't imagine working anywhere else. I'll stay as long as they'll have me!

    Cons

I'm sure that not everyone has the same experience as me, but I have no complaints.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!
