I have been working at Technica (South Carolina) full-time

    Pros

Medical insurance the worst I have ever experienced

    Cons

Lots of opening once you get in the door

    Advice to Management

More than 1 choose for medical that the employee can afford and to let you get your insurance elsewhere at a better cost

    Pros

    It's a job . 730-430

    Cons

They make you purchase insurance. No room for growth. They put $0 into 401K.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Technica (South Carolina) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Varies by location and contract, but at Ft Irwin (Barstow, CA) highly competitive wages, option of health and welfare paid (taxable) or used for benefits/401k. Nice paid time off and vacation (96 hours at the end of 1st year).

    Cons

Mangement can be spotty. Areas of emphasis seem to shift randomly and format rarely consistent. Some of this due to being a new contractor, but not all of it.

    Advice to Management

More cohesiveness. One manager rarely has a clue what any other is doing, even within a shop.

I worked at Technica (South Carolina) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Clearly defined contract, direct deposit, flexible scheduling, simply codified employee handbook, frequent team meetings, online timekeeping, bi-monthly payroll, W-2 employment, simple chain-of-command

    Cons

Wages, benefits-no 401K matching, medical plans expensive. Negotiations are perilous--miss a deadline and your position will be gone with no reconsideration. Communication is poor and frequently delayed. Work environment is poor--you will not feel Technics "has your back" at any time when dealing with client/employee issues, counseling is a formality--you may receive no notice of dissatisfaction until terminated and read a list of complaints of which you've not heard previously.

    Advice to Management

Improve communication channels. Negotiate reasonably and I professionally. Improve benefits package. Most importantly--workplace morale and company loyalty will not likely improve until the company provides an environment where employees feel they are more than human resources to be used and discarded without care or consideration.

I worked at Technica (South Carolina) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Contracted with the Government, and provided my a job.

    Cons

They are mostly a glorified head hunter. They provide bodies for jobs. For the most part, they could care less about the person.

    Advice to Management

    Don't bother.
