    Pros

    Excellent culture and opportunities. Salary scale is comparable to other large E&C companies.

    Cons

    Compared to other major E&C companies, Technip is probably better than average.

    Advice to Management

    Hopefully the culture isn't lost during the transition to the newly merged TechnipFMC.

    Uncertainty, no new business awarded, lay-offs

    -Genesis Houston management is poor in managing talented staff.
    -Does not value past contributions to success.

    -Pay attention to your staff specially senior / valuable staff
    -You wont be able to replace them once they are gone
    -Micro-management will not give you cost savings but frustrate manager

    I wish I could think of a single good reason to work here.

    Cons

    No career trajectory. No recognition for good work ethic or taking initiative. Notorious for underpaying engineers.

    Pros

    Friendly working environment where you can build good relationship with your co-worker, to have a great mentor or to be a mentor to younger engineer.

    Cons

    Due to the current job market, it is very hard choose the field that you want to work on to improve your career path.

    Advice to Management

    If possible, please try to create different options such as reduced work hour or pay cut to keep your employee.

    Convenient location, reasonable benefits, 80/9 working schedule

    Cons

    Weak departmental management, below average PM's qualifications, below average quality of deliverables, confusing or insufficient departmental procedures

    Work harder to organize departmental procedures, improve interdisciplinary communication, hire more qualified PMs and in particular, Project Engineering Managers

    Decent salary. Every second Friday off. Friendly atmosphere.

    Cons

    Over 60% of staff laid off in current downturn. Management not seen much. Everyone is nervous about lay-offs.

    Be more visible. Explain what is happening and how they see the future.
