    Tread lightly...

    Pros

    - Friendly staff - The VP seemed to have a sincere interest in the consultant experience

    Cons

It was pretty difficult to maintain consistent communication with TV staff once I was placed with the client. They were very friendly, but in the beginning of my contract would only respond after several failed attempts in contacting them via email/phone. I was staffed on a team that was in complete dysfunction and under a director that seemed very disconnected when it came to team engagement, industry happenings and strategies, and work distribution. It didn't help that the director had a pretty negative and cold disposition overall, a major roadblock when trying to build a rapport with said person. The department culture was so detrimental to one's professional growth and opposite of a collaborative spirit that I felt the need to document conversations and experiences and communicate them with TV. In addition to this, there was a complete oversight in their staffing needs, as myself and two other contractors would come into work for months and not do a lick of work. No exaggeration, here. I felt blindsided as I was under the impression that this would be more of a leadership role with a team excited to rebrand, but instead I walked into a firestorm of dysfunction and was never made aware of the department culture nor the director's work style. Once I began to voice my concerns to TV's HR I was abruptly terminated by the client. Had I been aware of that department's culture, I would have never accepted the role and would have awaited the right opportunity to come around.
