I worked at Techtronic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - TTi does a great job of training its Field Sales Reps
    - Competitive compensation package, 401k from start date with company match, generous vacation package w/o a probationary period
    - Opportunity to move & receive a relocation bonus (this is taxed heavily)
    - Learn a ton about power tools and how vendor/supplier/retail store relationship works
    - Single store rep, more opportunity for recognition, less drive time

    Cons

    - Your manager can really make or break your experience
    - Lack of organization
    - Lots of mail sent to your home, many managers do not see a need to allow you to clock this time spent organizing and moving things into your truck
    - Limited opportunity for growth, especially if on the West Coast

    Advice to Management

Have more realistic managers; great sales reps do not always make great managers. Implement a better review system

I worked at Techtronic full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Work is Technical, you own your project
    - You learn alot since you do everything, hardware and software. This is not your cup of tea if you like to be just a hardware person or just a software person
    - Great teamwork, knowledgeable and helping team. Loved the camaraderie
    - Flexible hours i.e. not cut-throat on being there early morning. Results oriented
    - Engineering environment with a Southern Homely touch
    - On-site Gym, golf course, and excellent restaurants in Anderson downtown
    - No Unnecessary training
    - No micro-management
    - Young and technical management, forward looking
    - Occasional Football over lunch, plus Clemson is close by
    - Opportunities to attend conferences, and training off site
    - Free great coffee and Birthday cakes!
    - Get to meet alot of vendors. Get exposed to their future parts, products and even training
    - You learn a bit of smart politics (not the dirty politics)
    - You get to take home TTi test tools, excellent if you love DYI projects. Also get employee discounts from tools direct ... lots of hidden perks that TTi is quite modest about
Overall you feel valued and important.

    Cons

Location is OK to live in. New work site is going to be better(and beautiful), closer to Greenville. If you are an international employee( i.e. not white to be specific). Live in Greenville! The suburbs are not very diversity friendly. This will impact your life and quality of work.

Young managers have less experience managing(ofcourse), that said if you are old and experienced and know whats going on, this will work in your favor since you are left on your own at times.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on training new employees to ramp them up. Spend more 1:1 time minimum weekly, the first year atleast.

    Pros

The team that I worked with was very supportive. I was actually the first intern ever in this position, but they handled the program very well and were genuinely interested in my growth. On top of the regular intern duties I was responsible for a large capstone project that was actually instrumental in the operation of the company. I really felt I had a pupose here as well as opportunities to grow.

    Cons

Because I was the first Intern in this program there was a lack of jobs to take up my time when not working on the big project, but that should be different now since I worked there in 2014.

    Advice to Management

Honestly, just keep up the encouragement for employees as well as the face time with them.

    Pros

There is an incredable amount of oppurtunity within TTI. There health insurance and free gas and vehicle are unbeatable!!

    Cons

Work hours are difficult. They recently switched our schedule to tue-sat. Basically with no respect for our pesonal lives. And two days a week we are selling mitersaws in the isle of Home Depot, not the best use of a $65,000 dollar college education!!

    Advice to Management

You have a team of over 300 in the field give them more respect then a weekly email saying "Good Job Team." They drive such a high volume of sales everyday in your sores. Give them more credit!!!!

    Pros

MNC environment, listed company, manufacturing giant, positive company outlook, leading position in the market, stable industry, travel allowance, pay above bar

    Cons

Way too much politics and drama, no overtime compensation, long working hours, frequent travel, poor communication among departments

    Advice to Management

Promote the competent employees, not the bootlicker. Be more open-minded to the employees' ideas and suggestions.
