    Pros

    Good Pay, not much else.

    Cons

Management gives promises they cannot follow through. They will work you to death, lack of work and life balance,. They preach safety but do not follow through with it, production is rated higher than safety. Getting a transfer is an act of congress. No real career growth potential.

    Advice to Management

    Dont be such tools.

    Pros

Only pro i can think of is the surrounding of the work place is amazing!
     Views from the building!
Other team such as change management/mobility etc are great

    Cons

Get treated differently in you are a contractor but they talk about being ONE TECK.
If they like you, you can get fair.
Based all on stats and not quality
If something happens while traveling to and from work - they do not care.
    Concerns are not talking seriously.
Management is not great - they allow service desk manager to work from home everyday!
    Team Lead is clueless
It's like being glued to the seat
No consideration for other peoples healthy even though they talk about safety as there main priority.
    Dysfunctional
    No room for growth!

    Advice to Management

They all need a reality check

    Pros

Sexy office in downtown Vancouver, view is second to none and location couldn't be better. Problem is - the people. Arrogant. Egomaniacs and snobs

    Cons

Definitely the office environment. It's stiff and old school. Try laughing and adding a little spontaneity.... Good luck. Definitely a company made for serious introverts with a very dull outlook on life. Good luck in sustaining your work force Teck! Have you taken a look at the millennials entering the workforce? Fun is their middle name.

I worked at Teck Resources full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Salary as a contractor, other teams are always willing to help.

    Cons

    Team morale was very poor.
Management were not willing to help the team when it was busy.
Management were more worried about KPI and stats than their own team.
Promotions are based on time served in the company rather than performance.
High turnover of staff due to poor leadership.
Management chose to ignore me after I handed in my notice, no thanks given for my time served.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to your staff, listen to the advice they are giving you.

I worked at Teck Resources (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some wonderful, dedicated, smart people onsite. Great to be at such a large operation. It's hard to say more as really, it was a terrible work environment.

    Cons

Very poor supervision which resulted in confusion and a break down of team. Office politics out of control- also due to people in "leadership" roles who have zero emotional intelligence.

    Advice to Management

Have a pathway for staff to provide constructive feedback about supervisors.

I have been working at Teck Resources full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good union members to work with as well fellow Supervisors.

    Cons

Managers do not walk their talk, Superintendents do what ever their managers want, whether it makes sense or not. Management DO NOT care, it is one big façade. Wages are way to high, breeds corruption and laziness. "Fake it to ya make it" TECK management motto !!!

    Advice to Management

You have no one fooled !! you thieves of Corporate Money. TECK should remove the unnecessary layer of Management at Highland Valley Copper either the Superintendents should be removed or their Managers then the new layer report to the General Mine Manager.
HR is a joke, just a political abyss of "what looks good" another fake it to ya make group.
