I have been working at Tecumseh Products (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company has great benefits and retirement plan. It's a fast paced company that trains it's employees to be productive on the job.

    Cons

The company has slowed down considerably and employees are not getting 40 hours of work. The company seems to be on a d onward spiral.

    Advice to Management

The company needs to seek business from other countries and within the continental US. If they do not seek other business; the company will soon phase out.

I worked at Tecumseh Products full-time

    Pros

    Good pay and decent benefits.

    Cons

Cash strapped company not in a position nor willing to invest in technology and resources that would allow employees to be more productive and successful. A ridiculous amount of outdated, manual processes. Uncooperative mindset with a "mine" mentality. teamwork is not really a supported attribute here. Everyone is pretty much out for the themselves.

I have been working at Tecumseh Products (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Not a swing shift operation. If you work in assembly like me you are at present working 4 days a week, 10 hours a day.

    Cons

Safety program almost does not exit. Biggest safety tip is " Be Safe Today". Safety glasses and ear plugs are supposed to be required but not enforced except when " company is coming". Steel toe boots/shoes are not required and I think they should be( I wear mine always).

    Advice to Management

Enforce safety rules already on the books. Have periodic safety meetings for ALL employees not just safety committee. Need to do better job at training people for their jobs, not just put them on it and walk away.
