I have been working at Ted Baker London (Less than a year)

    Pros

Employee discount; Fifth Ave. location. Room for growth.

    Cons

Most managers are condescending and self-serving. General manager sets the tone. Employees feel as if they have no advocate.

    Advice to Management

As much attention as you give to corporate visits, sales goals and visual standards, invest some of that energy into employee well being. People are very unhappy.

I have been working at Ted Baker London part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Clothes are cute, interesting customers, unique sense of style

    Cons

no chance to get promoted. Managers are too buddy buddy. Last time that I worked there the West Coast Area Manager was making inappropriate sexual jokes about the store managers husband. I feel in the next 10 years these people will be weeded out and Ted will be a lot better.

    Advice to Management

Small companies need to work out their flaws. In 10 years or so, with the growth of this company, it will be much better. You have to wait for time to pass.

I have been working at Ted Baker London full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Learn how to create your own business within a business
    Very customer service oriented

    Cons

Awful management stemming directly from the terrible upper management
No structure or appreciation for hard work
    Politics
Useless/unimportant "champion"positions created to waste more
Of your time and hold you responsible for something they will change their mind on within a month
    Did I mention completely unstructured??
Under qualified people holding positions of power
    Terrible rate of turnover
Underperforming in the US market due to non adaptation to operating businesses of different structure/volume due to inexperience and foreign management

    Advice to Management

Get it together !!!!!! It's getting old and tired, learn how to properly run a business and allow your employees to be happy. Turnover rates should not be Anywhere as high and completely rediculous as they are...clearly there is an issue.

    Pros

Pay is better than most retail establishments, other sales associates were very kind and easy to get along with.

    Cons

Expectations for new employees are extremely vague, no register training, barely any training of any other kind, everything is about making a sale and making more money, absolutely no focus on customer satisfaction, employees have almost no say in shift scheduling, lunch breaks are only half an hour no matter how long you work.

    Advice to Management

Focus on your customers! Treat employees with a little more respect.

    Pros

I had a passion for fashion, which led me to work at the lovely flagship store on fifth avenue.

    Cons

We were required to wear heels the entire day and had to suffer through the pain.

    Advice to Management

The management became very immature, especially towards each other. The environment became stressful because everyone became caddy towards each other.

I worked at Ted Baker London full-time

    Pros

Men's clothing and stores are beautiful. Ray himself is a wonderful person.

    Cons

People used to love working for Ted Baker in Manhattan. Then upper management changed, friends were promoted and hired in place of actual qualified professionals and it went downhill from there, obviously. Hopefully their wholesale business will save them. Customer reviews of the business used to soar, now they are as nasty as the corporate office is catty.

    Advice to Management

    Don't. Just don't.
