    Pros

There are always hours to work if you want them, and the hours are flexible.

    Cons

Maintaining stats can be challenging, and it can be difficult to move up.

    Negative Outlook

    I worked at Tel-Assist full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    None to speak of honestly.

    Cons

    - Terrible pay for the work you are doing
    - Barely any break time
    - Management is a joke
    - Supervisors don't know anything when you need help and then you get penalized for messing up. If you follow their advice and they are wrong, they will still write you up for their misguidance.
    - You are RUSHED through the "training program" (if you could call it that) and just expected to go along with it.
    - They mention pay raises in the initial interview, but the reality is you won't see a dime of that for over 6 months of employment.

    Advice to Management

Provide some support for your hard working agents! It is impossible to get ahead in an environment where no supervisor in the building can answer your question!

    I worked at Tel-Assist part-time

    Pros

Supervisors were excellent at supporting the employees and dealing with difficult callers patiently and politely. Metrics let you know where you stood. Most co-workers generally did a great job.

    Cons

Little attention given to what employees are doing right. Management not open to new ideas and applied company policy inconsistently.

    Advice to Management

Be open to new ideas, tell your employees what they're doing right.

    Pros

The location is really nice. The job is relatively easy... In the beginning. Most of the employees are really nice. There is a wide variety of background of people who work there. You will get a good introduction on working in a call center.

    Cons

The job is really stressful. You take a high volume of calls from various different companies. The training is not all that great as I learned a lot of things on-the-go and taught myself a lot of what I'm currently doing. You also will get marked down for things beyond your control. The point system is confusing. Although a lot of the supervisors are nice, they are not really helpful when you have questions regarding accounts. Communication with this company amongst employees to supervisors is not great. There is also a lot of gossip going around which ruins company culture. It also does not allow for too much time to do things outside of work. I work 30+ hours a week and still haven't received any benefits like some other employees.

    Advice to Management

Check some of your supervisors. Develop a better system of training. Get some new chairs; the current chairs cause a lot of back pain. Separate people to specifically take certain groups of calls at certain times of the day to help reduce employee stress level. Make an effort to come around & talk to your employees, it would make this job a whole lot better.

    Cons

Requires a specific personality to do the job. Callers can be a handful.

    I have been working at Tel-Assist part-time

    Pros

    Flexible hours and decent wages.

    Cons

All companies have to put their best interest as top priority but this company takes it to the extreme. As long as the company is benefiting everything is good, if not watch out. Since the company is a small company the insurance is priced high. It is so high that most of the employees cannot afford it.

    Advice to Management

Since the merging of the two answering services the company is not the same. People were more inclined to help with open hours, changing their schedules to benefit the company or to cover for other employees before the upper management (one person in particular) took over. It is now managed without any feeling or one that is completely fake.
