No real opportunity to move up within the company. Lots of lip service to hiring from inside but saw zero action on it. Rather than moving tenured proven employees to positions with new projects or forgoing ridiculous bonuses to upper management they laid off 6% of their US workforce. Made everyone feel exceptionally disposable.

Some of management is brutal. With unfair expectations that range from unethical to borderline illegal. Depending on your manager you can expect regular phone calls to help fix things late at night, little respect for your personal time, perpetual last minute meetings that are often cancelled. It's a nightmare. They'll tell you that the lower pay is because of job security and that the stock is great. Try signing on at $335 a share and selling at $18. As for the job security? Nope. You should expect a cold hearted phone call while you're driving your kids to school or walking your dog. The actual tech is garbage. Microservices have been largely implemented in ways that aren't maintainable, with design patterns mixed up left and right. There's multiple frameworks in every project that all accomplish the same thing so it's just a mess trying to work with it. It doesn't matter which team you're on, you will work with a project like this. Many newer technologies are being abandoned for legacy tech and hiring has been frozen in most countries other than ones where the dollar is cheap...if that doesn't give you a clear picture of where this company is at then I don't know what to tell you.

Biggest problem I see here is the work life balance. This company does not invest much on man power so you might end up doing two people work and easily gets very stressful at times. Some managers are highly autocratic and looks for perfection even if it is 3 AM in the morning. Another big problem in this data engineering area is there will be only complaints more often than appreciation. Frequently you will be put in spot in group level meetings and often times compared with your peers or sub-ordinates performance which bring your morale down. You must even be prepared for managers putting you in spot in a conference call and be very rude at times for not able to meet his/her expectation and point out the flaws, I am unsure if every other group in this company behaves this way, but my experience has been very bumpy.

Depending on the team, upward movement is not a easily tracked out path; however, there is plenty of support to make the moves between teams to allow that path

- There are a few genuine & caring people left in management - Company will not exist in five years time - looking to be acquired by then - Competitors are eating this firm's lunch in every business channel so you get a first class seat for MBA level coursework in poor executive leadership

- Most job offerings listed online aren't meant to actually be filled - The company is hiring contractors at very low rates to reduce balance sheet - The "In-Crowd" is safe from constant layoffs but everyone else is disposable. Two layoffs in the past three months and more to quietly come in 2023

There is no late cancellation/no show protection for clinical therapists. ( I had 10 clients no-show on me just last month and didn't get paid). Teladoc’s Late Cancellation and No-Show Policy is very weak and doesn’t protect the therapist’s time. Here is a message that I received from Teladoc when I inquired about reimbursement for my 10 clients that no-showed or cancelled late: “At this time, a rescheduled visit, no matter the time frame is not considered a member cancellation and will not be reimbursed under the No Show/Late Cancellation Policy.” So, basically if you have a client that no-shows and reschedules an appointment with you in 4 weeks, you do not get paid for the no-show. Also, Teladoc currently pays $55 per completed therapy consult. Many other companies are paying at least $75 per completed therapy consult, and they offer no-show/late cancellation protection.

Laid off look to hire outside for leadership roles before considering qualified internal employees.
