I worked at TeleTech full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy interview, classroom learning was focused enough to give you basic skills and pay was enough if you got and easy job like Best Buy.

    Cons

For the pay they demand high adherence to metrics and can sometimes push you to sell when you morally do not agree or else!

    Advice to Management

Pay your performers better. Take feedback on performance of supersvisors seriously and don't try to take Christmas bonuses away from employees who fulfilled all the mega overtime requirements. .....like don't even try it's stressful and demented.

I worked at TeleTech full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Training is on target to get you ready to perform. I worked as a seasonal employee during open enrollment season for Medicare supplements. This was a telemarket position where clients called in for medicare supplements. They do get you prepped for taking the insurance exam. Pay for it, and keep you up to date. Good starter job, if you can handle the fast pace.

    Cons

Work was done in large noisy environment with inadequate equipment. Hard to hear. Floor managers constantly yelling on floor. If numbers start to fall, management panics and tells you to hurry up and get off, do what you can to force the sale whether they need it or not. Floor supervisors are Over-controlling on floor. Don't protect you from irate, needless calls from clients.

    Advice to Management

Train your floor leaders to listen to floor employees on the phones and remember to keep what the intent is behind what you are trying to achieve. Help the customer. To much emphasis on numbers.

    Pros

Judi Hands leadership. Many management changes. As the new sales leader Judi is providing strong and decisive leadership which has been lacking

    Cons

To many layers to get anything approved and completed. Not competitive for the services offered even though senior management thinks they are.

    Advice to Management

    Need to make more streamlined

    Pros

    You work at home
    Paid training
They have benefits if you can afford them
    Easy to get hired.

    Cons

It's a hassle to get any payroll info once you leave
If you have tech issues, you won't get paid
There are lots of tech issues and you always get blamed. If the tech issue is their fault then you will be paid.

All jobs are customer service, some involve sales, which I hate, so I quit.

You cannot access the training info outside of work hours, so you better learn it and practice it in training. If that is not your learning style, too bad.

You can't have any noise in the background. It is grounds for termination. So forget working with your kids and pets in the house.

They do not pay or reimburse for any equipment. That is extremely rare with work at home companies.

Very low pay: $9.00 an hour, but then again you have the convenience of working at home. I don't think it is worth it. I get paid more outside of my house, plus I can't get blamed for tech issues at a brick and mortar site.

Take this job only if you can't get any other job, are desperate and must work from home. Be prepared to pay for high speed internet , a decent headset and a good up to date computer. You're on your own for all that.

    Advice to Management

    Fix the tech issues
Have a reliable way to access payroll info after you leave. I did email the department and haven't heard from them and it has been a week. How am I supposed to do my taxes?

I feel that the opportunity which you have build relationships is great. The place is very family oriented. They make attempts to do community oriented events as well

    Cons

Overall, it is very difficult to promote and there is a huge lack of management who know what they are doing. You aren't given the skills to succeed. Always changing yet the changes implemented don't seem to work well

    Pros

Great entry-level position as a Technical Support/Customer Service Representative.
Possibility to be pulled into other projects or initiatives.
    Good pay for location.

    Cons

    The training experience was horrible.
Training was highly disorganized, seemed very unprepared to take on as many associates as they hired.

    Advice to Management

Consider assembling a new-hire package and emailing them to associates to fill out 1-2 weeks ahead of first day so it stream-lines our on-boarding process.
