      Comfortable "family" work environment

      Pros

Very friendly people throughout the organization. Extensive interaction with manufacturing was a good learning opportunity.

      Cons

As an engineer, not a ton of room for upward mobility as the onus on developing truly new technologies was pretty low.

      Pros

      Ability to get external training

      Cons

Depends on your manager, but no on-the-job training; you are pretty much left to figure out everything on your own. There is zero communication, so no one knows anything and doesn't know who would know that information, so you can't get anywhere if you are trying to do a good job. Everyone has multiple jobs, is overworked, and so the quality suffers because the focus is the bottom line.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good spot to begin your job experience

      Cons

No internal growth opportunities, management is biased towards veterans (which is fine to a point, vets worked hard when they were in the military), only real way to get a raise or level increase is to threaten to leave, employee happiness is very low, when things are brought up to HR NOTHING gets done, management doesn't care about you, your mental health, or your family, you can ask for an opportunity to advance and they will do nothing to help Within my last year of working at Teledyne, our President and director left. The director who took over is trying their best but the management under them is horrible.
