    Please be more involved on the floor, without those people you have NO job. Educate yourself on the product before you speak. Treat the people better

    Pros

    Decent heath care plan.

    Cons

    Everything is treated as if it's a secret. New hires, people leaving, people changing positions? Unless you know them or happen to hear something on the grapevine, forget it. Very little chance of promotion if you're out on the floor. Some younger supervisors with little or no experience are allowed to run their production lines as their own little kingdoms. Suggestions? Forget it. Criticisms? Dog help you. It's their way or the highway.

    Advice to Management

    Be open about things! Nothing good happens to morale when people practically vanish in the dark of night with no communication of what's going on. And we're supposed to keep an eye open for "unfamiliar people" in the plant, for security, when you don't tell us when someone new is hired or anything about them? And the background music, for the love of humanity! Cough up a few bucks and get Sirius or some other decent service that has more than 50 songs in their playlist.

    Pros

    The company has a very competitive benefit program.
    It is a good learning experience, but don't stay there too long if you want to promote your career.
    They pay their administrative staff pretty decently.

    Cons

    My immediate Supervisor was too busy with day-to-day activities to thoroughly vent all the issues on my desktop and she did not provide me with the proper resources to do my job optimally.
    My immediate Supervisor did not have my back and did not buffer me from upper management requests at all.
    Many acquisitions required heavy workload influx on your desktop and you were not duly compensated for it.
    They run severely streamline in terms of their staffing and do not promote from within.
    Your home vs. work life balance is non-existent, it's all work and absolutely no play.
    You work more than 50 hours a week as a mainstay and rarely take a lunch.
    The corporate structure is extremely difficult to navigate and their systems are not integrated at all.
    The Corporate office is gross, they are old buildings that are falling apart at the seams.
    Their training is non-existent, you have to rebuild your position from the ground up.
    Request a job description and if management wants you to work on additional projects, make sure you work within the parameters of your job description and tell them "No!" for extra projects that don't pertain to your job description unless they agree to compensate you for it.
    There were numerous times when the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more people!
    Get a different physical Corporate office space where staff members can more easily communicate with one another to build a more cohesive team and enjoyable working environment.
    Let staff members evaluate their immediate supervisor confidentially and base some of their annual merit increase on the staff member's evaluations of their performance.
    Train your supervisors on people skills.
    Listen to your staff members, many times we go unheard.
    Provide a decent Christmas party where everyone is invited so that corporate staff can meet one another.

    The company is a well known brand for quality, it's a stable company with numerous divisions that allow for movement between business units

    Cons

    The salaries offered are below the market average, the benefits offered are average, they do not offer full tuition reimbursement

    To retain existing talent and bring on new quality talent, salaries need to be adjusted to match the market

    Stable employment. Good benefits. Diverse opportunities across business units.

    Cons

    In my business unit, an all out implosion was underway between competing fiefdoms attempting to defraud each other for increased security. Outdated technology with little vision for future expansion. Little to no opportunity for growth. Meeting financial goals through creative management instead of delivering value.

    Advice to Management

    Take your title and seek an equivalent position in another company. The internal battles is not worth your dignity.

    Pros

    I got a paycheck every other week. Job security - layoffs and firings were really rare.

    Cons

    No real growth within the company. Pay and raises were low. Employee morale was down. Management played favorites. Over the years it just became the place I would go to during the day, rather than a job. Ultimately, your hard work goes unnoticed.

    Advice to Management

    Don't gloat about the bonuses you are getting.
