I worked at Telefónica full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, life insurance, health insurance not only for the employee also for his wife and children. Competitive salary. And although it might be "Cons", due to excessive pressure of work, you get to learn many things.

    Cons

There are opportunities to grow, but not for the high levels, at least in Mexico they prefer people from other countries to take this high positions, and really not always they worth it. It seems like they do not trust in Mexican people.

    Advice to Management

Important to check that the same level of Manager (for example) in different areas may have the same income, but not the same workload and responsibility, and that discouraged.

    Pros

Leaders have an open door policy, everyone is really approachable
    Personal and Professional development encouraged
Good advancement opportunities for high talent
    Salary
    Flexible Working
    Benefits package

    Cons

Regulator blocked merger and past 2 years left its marks on the organisation. Most of the decisions were on hold, or executed in a minimalistic manner due to requirements of the merger negotiations.
Leadership change and reorg offers good opportunities but might also end up shedding a lot of long term talent from the company

    Advice to Management

Adopt your own style, There is no need to mimic the predecessors.

I worked at Telefónica as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

It all depends on the role, some Interns are being given more, some less responsibility. Generally, it is a great opportunity to understand how working in this industry is like. Offers opportunity to network with people and really think about what would you like to do in your life.
Interns are treated like normal employees in early stage of their career, a lot of guidance is offered.
Special events and projects are organised to encourage cooperation between Early Careers employees (Interns, Grads, Apprentices).
Interns have access to all general perks, some perks are available also after you leave the company.

    Cons

Internship scheme is not so well managed like Graduate or Apprenticeship schemes. It all depends on the manager, how your year with the organisation will look like, no rotation available.

    Pros

Real multinational, relatevely easy to relocate in latin America (a bit less in Europe right now) and opportunity to do a lot of different things

    Cons

Poor career / promotions opportunities, but this may be an issue for the overall Telco sector and not specific of this company

    Advice to Management

Choose a few big fights and focus on those, simplify the organization, there are too many overlaps across areas and unclear leadership
