    Pros

    - good benefits and pay
    - good location near Levis Stadium and Great America
    - nice co-workers
    - willing to try new things

    Cons

    - company morale feels really low, no one seems amped to be there
    - actual work was pretty boring
    - navigation in cars just doesn't seem like a long-term viable option, most people use mobile devices
    - creating designs for projects that won't be released for multiple years
    - office space is VERY un-inspiring, every morning walking in felt like walking into a depression zone
    - food is HORRIBLE at the cafeteria, many people got sick from eating there
    - overall company feels like it just lacks that passionate talent to take them anywhere but the bottom

    Pros

    Interesting product
    Nice and many hard-working people

    Cons

It's mainly a Chinese company. Product requirement is unclear, development and design process are not there, so it is running an inefficient loop. Most people are usually very busy for multiple tasks and working long hours, so it's totally not a work-life-balanced place.

Many employees are from overseas, so the communication could be unprofessional. Because of lacking communication and proper written documentation, responsibilities and completed tasks are difficult to track down. There is no scrum mater to monitor the tasks in the development cycle, and QA could be imagining how/what the product should work and perform.

Big ego of the employee worked there for over 10 years could dominate the product design without sharing. In order to have the control, it could be easy to make a blame on other teammates, which managers are either filtered, ignorant, or too busy to understand the deep down problems. This makes the company become like a family run business and hard to grow to a higher level.

Although the management is trying hard to improve and make it better, it could be very hard to change the root culture.

    Advice to Management

Each individual works hard enough, so the management needs to trust employees more. If employees continue working overtime, they are physically exhausted and mentally tired, no one could be productive especially they are unhappy. It is costing more if the company keeps loosing good employees.

The root cause of inefficiency is the entire lifecycle, and the company needs an experienced scrum mater to monitor each single step. Hire more experienced professionals to help change the working habits and even just basic business practice. Listening to the new fresh voice rather than just following the old employee, or the product can never improve.

Do not continue giving employees pressure about the cost and money, which does not generate any positive experience. This only makes employees think of leaving as long as they can.

    Cons

Poor Management , ESPECIALLY for Project Management.
Don't know why the Upper management team transfer some English Major ladies to manage the project. Is this because they can speak English ? ?
They don't even know what is the software development process , Com'on , be professional !

    Pros

I found the benefits and compensation to be ok. Work environment is consistent, so you're not in a 60 hour rat race like in some companies. A few of the teams are smart and well run and many of the newer hires know what they're doing.

    Cons

The CEO doesn't provide a clear direction for the company which filters down to everyone else. Project priorities are often changing. Communication between teams is lacking. You'll think you've come to an agreement on a solution to a problem, only to find out a month later that not everyone was on the same page.

Lots of infighting and politicking. The best managers and best engineers leave for other companies. Many of the people who stay and get promoted are good at talking (or shouting), not doing.

I have been working at Telenav full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Business can in theory be turned around according to plan and some strategic growth areas are growing
    Flexible environment
    Engineer-centric
    Good compensation

    Cons

Upper management is defocused, impractical and out of touch. Founder's syndrome.
Management is mostly reactive rather than proactive when it comes to keeping employees happy
Employees are distant second class citizens to management (although it's like this most places)
Will the company actually execute the turn around plan? It's already missed targets and pushed goals into the future, so I'm unsure if it has the focus and strength of will to do it.

    Advice to Management

Work harder to retain good employees and focus harder on the hard decisions and boring work of turning the company around.
