    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Telligent Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pretty good benefits considering the company size, great customer list, most of the coworkers are great to work with, reasonable pay, everyone gets an office, community service projects are awesome

    Cons

seems like the company is bleeding more money then they make, recently purchased another company and is now changing our name (smoke and mirrors?), management lacks transparency even though they say they are being transparent, mediocre bonuses and raises each year even though review went great, no career paths, product use to be the best in the market now is way behind the competition,

    Advice to Management

Focus time, energy and money making our products better. Better products are easier to sale and will require less marketing hype. Then maybe we could keep up with our compitiion

    Pros

Marquee customer base, although most big names were sold years ago. Good benefits for a small company.

    Cons

Lack of executive leadership, no clear strategy, product is way behind competitors, trivial investment in marketing, customers not renewing, no career path. Lots of employee turnover, company has shrunk not grown. Company is headquartered in Dallas and doesn't attract top talent

    Advice to Management

    - Define a clear strategy and align the company behind it
    - Hire better people and pay them well (you get what you pay for)
    - Focus on growth, not profitability
    - Provide resources for employees to succeed

    Pros

You get an office. 3 weeks vacation after 3 years. Good group of people to work with.

    Cons

Upper management doesn't care about the people at the bottom. No room for professional growth. Unrealistic goals. People in charge are not competent in their position.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees better. Build a plan to allow employees to move up the chain. Promote from within. Put people in charge of groups that know what they are doing.

    Pros

Many nice friendly people that work there.
    Competitive compensation offered.
    Good technology though aging some.
Nice offices and almost everyone gets a private office

    Cons

Many new and old competitors make the business future cloudy.
Had layoffs in 2009 because of economy and change in management

    Advice to Management

Go back to whatever made the company great when it was a start up
Reduce the layers of management and stop trying to focus on only a few really big clients

    Pros

Great startup environment that was still family friendly while being a lot of fun! Very intelligent, knowledgeable staff focused on humble individuals with low ego.

    Cons

You might get laid off at any given moment, especially the way that Senior Management has been running the company. Budgets are very tight for just about everything, sometimes unnecessarily so. This company used to be very innovative, but now only follows its competitors.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people more and focus less on hyping the company. Focus on growth at a more realistic, sustainable pace rather than constantly following the competition. The management strategies you have put in place work in larger firms in mature industries, not in smaller firms in very dynamic industries. Listen to your people more rather than outsiders.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Telligent Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

In my territory worked with some great people and some interesting opportunities.
I got a feel what it was like to work in an office that was set to grow within a region.

    Cons

    A simple lack of leadership.
No autonomy in EMEA everything was being executed and checked by HQ and this slowed down the business ability to react quickly to changes in regions outside the US.

    Advice to Management

If you wish to be a market leader you need to invest in your global position.
Offer some sort of shares to your employees. I found it strange this was never offered.
Make your product look good as the first bite is always with the eye.
