    Pros

Very good pay, benefits and opportunities

    Cons

Many political arguments and decision making by upper management is driven by cost-cutting

    Advice to Management

Now your stuff and retain the good staff; we keep losing all the good staff without cutting under performing staff.

    I worked at Telstra full-time

    Pros

A lot of experience around the company, great perks such as provided mobile, tablet and laptop for work and great people to socialise with

    Cons

A lot of red tape, especially where service delivery and escalations is concerned.

    Advice to Management

The CEO is a former CFO, and is getting rid of a lot of experience and creating a toxic environment where people are deflated in spirit. It is actually ruining Telstra, and really sabotaging the great Australian company it once was.

High expectations, most of which are out of your control (center/company wide goals) which impact your pay. Little to no opportunities for advancement.

I worked at Telstra (More than a year)

    Pros

Working in Telstra retail can be a mixed bag. I worked for a private franchise. About 70% of Telstra stores are privately owned so ensure you are aware of that. There is also a large group called VITA which own a large amount of Telstra stores. Typically VITA pushes staff further and harder to hit targets, so if that’s what you are after vita may be for you.
Work roster was either Tues-Sat or Sun - Thu, which is great for certain lifestyle.
Don’t expect career opportunities within Telstra unless you work for a corporately owned store.

    Key pros:
    decent retail salary
    Commissions on sales
    Bonuses

    Cons

    Cons:
    no Saturday Sunday weekend
More pressure than the typical retail job
Retail managers are a very bottom tier leadership position, so experience can vary greatly on the leadership in store (from excellent to terrible)

    Cons

Due to the large size of organization , very difficult to get things done quickly . Too much bureaucracy and politics.
