Cons
Sometimes I get tired of clients.

Good pay if you can drop everything you're doing to write for them...
Jul 30, 2022 - Content WriterRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Actually, this was my best paying client so I stayed as long as I could.
Cons
Freelancers are promised steady work, but may go for several weeks without being given any assignments, even though they have indicated they are available for work. On the other hand, once a freelancer indicates being unavailable for a certain amount of time, management makes assignments to the freelancer without regard to that writer's personal schedule. Scheduling is inconsistent.

Great start for a new writer.
Sep 14, 2022 - Freelance CopywriterRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I picked up writing gigs here early in my copywriting career. The pay was low, but it was a great way to learn the ropes and get some experience.
Cons
Low pay. Little human interaction.

For writers, it's a great company to start with
Apr 16, 2022 - Anonymous FreelancerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I really like Tempesta Media, the pay for new writers is competitive and I believe it's fair. The editors and staff are friendly and are clear in explaining assignments and giving writers the chance to correct them. If you're in-between jobs, this is a good company to work with.
Cons
The only downsize I can think of is if you want to grow as a writer, pay-wise, I'm not sure the company offers that. There doesn't seem to be any pay increases for long-term writers, or maybe it's just me. But it's good as a side job or supplemental income.

Amazing company culture and a place to really feel valued
Dec 9, 2020 - Director of Customer Success in San Antonio, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have been with Tempesta Media for about 2 years. They are a quickly growing content marketing company who have a unique approach to providing quality content at scale. -There is a consistent drive for teamwork and inclusion. Support is always available even during stressful times - From the CEO down the company works together to achieve its goals, which is a first for me in my 14+ years in the Customer Service industry. - Management always pushing to improve process and technology to ensure that both employee and client needs are met. - Flexible remote work opportunity - Training is provided to help you grow and develop your career. Since coming to Tempesta I have expanded my knowledge content in specific and have learned a lot about digital marketing as a whole. Overall I have never worked with a company that has felt so much like an actual team trying to achieve a goal, and where I felt like my experience and skills were valued the way I am here.
Cons
The only thing close to a con that I can think to mention is that because we are still a small growing company, come prepared with ideas and flexibility to work outside of your "normal role". As with any up and coming company sometimes we need to wear multiple hats to get a job done. If that doesn't work for you then the role may be challenging.

Pros
Assignment platform is easy to use
Cons
Assignments require hours of research that is not reflected in the pay. Assignment instructions are vague; slant of articles not clearly stated

A Positive and Uplifting Work Environment
Dec 8, 2020 - Customer Success Manager in Michigan City, INRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have worked at Tempesta Media for almost a year now and it has been fantastic! The management team is great and easy to work with. I mainly work with the content operations team who are always ready to help solve issues and optimize future workflows. The CEO is always a joy to talk to. He is the most understanding and helpful boss I've ever had!
Cons
Our main focus is producing quality content. I would not recommend working here if you do not carefully read instructions or do not strive for personal and professional growth.

A Content Marketing Sweatshop With Bait-and-Switch Tactics: AVOID
Dec 5, 2018 - Independent ContractorRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you're looking for any remote work, well...it's doable
Cons
* Incredibly short turnaround times (getting assignments at 4:30 am that are due 11:30 pm that following evening) * Low pay (they requested my per word rate, yet they're "paying" incredibly low amounts for high amounts of work) * Inappropriate, unprofessional feedback * Everything is automated - you have to dig to get any kind of contact information * Assignments are randomly "dumped" - received five (5) assignments - three were longer pieces due the next day - late on a Sunday night * Not even a formal contract (which should be a *huge* red flag)
Continue readingThank you for taking the time to provide your review. It is our policy to always provide writers with 2 days to turnaround blog length writing assignments and one day to turnaround any revision requests. For longer assignments, we provide even more time. All writers are notified about new assignments from within their account on our platform and by email. Tempesta Media pays well above industry norms. Writers who demonstrate superior expertise and writing quality have the opportunity to increase their earnings. All writers receive constructive feedback from our editors about their writing style, grammar, structure and level of insight provided within the content. Content is edited to ensure it matches the customer’s unique voice and instructions. Most writers actually appreciate the feedback from editors, as it helps them improve their writing skills. Each customer has a team of writers so that we don’t “dump” assignments on any given writer. We only work with professional writers who have great writing skills, industry expertise, and consistently meet reasonable deadlines. We wish you the best in your writing career and are sorry it wasn’t a fit.

Incredible Place to Work and Grow
Mar 7, 2018 - Anonymous Employee in Chicago, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I am a current full-time employee at Tempesta Media and have already enjoyed and learned more the last month of working here, than I have at any previous company I've worked with. I have had a good share of professional and unprofessional business teams to work alongside. What I love about Tempesta Media is the ambition and admiration to constantly expand and improve the company. Everyone is devoted in their own way and we build off one another to produce high quality results. Anytime you turn to look for a helping hand, someone is already prepared to do so. The culture speaks for itself, we are always having fun and celebrating the victories whether they're big or small. Aside from the company ethics itself, I have gained more knowledge than I have in the years of experience prior to this job. I'm always being pushed to educate myself and bring new ideas to the table.
Cons
I do not have any cons for this company.
