I have been working at Tempur Sealy International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility in schedule. Freedom and encouragement to grow. You are only as much as you need to be, those who flourish by being given the freedom to manage themselves will love it here and as long as you stay on track you can do anything. Management want employees to give their opinion and offer up suggestions, however once a decision is made you need to back it if you want to stay in management

    Cons

Shareholders have let an activist investment group take charge. We have lost 15% or more of the work force because of it and there is talk of cutting back Tempur Sealy's share of insurance converge from around 70%+ to just 40%. There are so many peroneal changes still underway you don't know if you will be employed tomorrow or not.

    Advice to Management

the K-8 form files on October 29th describes Project 650. To move the company from an EBITDA of 450 Million to 650 Million in two years and then reward only the senior executives tells your employees two things. First, there are more cutbacks in our future and second the folks that actually make it happen are meaningless to the company as they do not get to share in the projects payout.

I have been working at Tempur Sealy International full-time

    Pros

Great company growth potential as world leader in the mattress business. Much upside potential if properly managed. Good strategic plan in place but still too many moving parts related to overall projects on the list.

    Cons

Current leadership team is lacking core business knowledge on inter-spring mattresses which is a large portion of the revenue. There is still a lot of tribal knowledge that is being over looked on key decisions that is creating concern for sustainability of the inter-spring mattress business.

    Advice to Management

Be very careful with making decisions going forward. Not sure downsizing that recently took place was the best thing to do given the workload and uneasy environment already present. That along with great profitability numbers raises concern over what is next on cutbacks.

    Pros

Great working environment - hard working dedicated people. Building is a great plus - beautiful - on site cafe, Starbucks and gym. Looks out for the employee.

    Cons

Compensation is not up to industry standards. Company needs to focus on better training. Senior executives not always aware of what goes on in the day to day work day.

    Advice to Management

May want to consider a better training program.

I worked at Tempur Sealy International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great working environment. The building is state of the art, with a Starbucks and cafe onsite. The workout facility and common areas are nice, open, and well maintained. Beautiful building, and very nice people to work with.

    Cons

Senior executives have a tendency to rule by fear. Intimidation, and some ruthless politics are employed to grab power and position in the newly merged company. If you are working at the executive level, wear Kevlar. Very unfortunate sub-culture in an otherwise great organization.

    Advice to Management

The top HR officer should do exit interviews with employees who are released under bizarre circumstances and who have otherwise been stellar employees.
