A people's company: great culture and benefits
Aug 3, 2022 - PR Manager in Denver, CORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Tenable truly cares about their employees. Management listen carefully and take action. In 2021 the burnout was noticiable. Some companies will give you one day of or make an isolated action. Not Tenable. Management took this big time. They announced 'close of business' for all Fridays of August. The initiative had so much success that they make it a permanent benefit for the following years. When all companies where fighting over go back to the office, including big techs like Facebook, Google, etc, Tenable make a bold move and announced a Hybrid work adaptable to each employee. YOU CHOOSE. Company culture is also amazing. All people value their co-workers and celebrate their success. Competition? what it that? Here people are sincerely willing to help you in any way.
Cons
Fast pacing work Health insurance is not the best for all regions where the company have employees.

• Startup culture even for well established company • Relaxed atmosphere • Competitive Salary • Medical and Dental Benefits • Performance is rewarded • Training provided in US HQ • Full team takes part in new hire on-boarding • Tight camaraderie from all regional teams even when members are remote • Great team Spirit • Clear opportunity based targets • Huge growth and opportunities • Games/TV room for breaks • Free hot drinks
Cons
Where do I start. • I think I have repetitive stress syndrome from raising and lowering my Electric Standing Desk. No-one ever offered to assist me. • People got too good at PlayStation, I spend most of my lunch hours being destroyed at FIFA, I think some of them purchased the game to play at home for this sole purpose. Scum. My confidence is at an all-time low. • This wonderful new office has made me quite cocky when I tell people where I work. It's not a version of me that I like. • The convenient central location of the office comes at a cost. I look like a daddy long legs on a bicycle during my commute. • There are at least 4 coffee shops within a 100 metre radius of the office. I hate coffee. • Everyone is really helpful, friendly and welcoming here. SO creepy. • There are showers in the bathrooms. Bring your own towel though cos I had to drip dry twice, wasted 3 minutes there. • Regular and healthy snacks provided???? So it's guilt or obesity? I don't appreciate mind games. • Each employee's birthday is celebrated with gifts and food. I want to feel this special every day. This is not the case. • Frequent team building activities. My teammates in the escape rooms challenge were less than helpful. • A guy from Tech support told me to shut up once (clearly doesn't appreciate the BANTS). I think he's leaving now • Someone tried to learn an instrument in the office once. They've gone now. • Someone asked for a nap room once. They've gone now.
Continue readingHi there fellow Tenable employee! We’re glad to hear that you are having such a positive experience at “Amenable NeatWork Security,” and we hope we continue to provide a great work environment . However, we’d like to address some of your concerns that you’ve listed as “Cons”: -I am sorry to hear that you are suffering from repetitive stress syndrome as a result of your standing desk struggles. I’d suggest taking the manual’s advice and plug the desk in…this should alleviate your pain. -Perhaps if you Dublin folks lay off the Guinness…you’ll be better at FIFA…give it a try ;) -With regards to the Escape Room…I’ve heard that an employee accidentally locked themselves in a utility closet rather than the designated escape room. Was this you? If so, this may be why they were less than helpful…(It also sounds like maybe they left you there on purpose) All jokes set aside...Thanks for the clever review! :)

Cons

Pros
Work from home, good people overall, good momentum behind the company and a recent IPO. Seems to be in a good position overall going forward. Working from home is great flexibility. Competitive pay.
Cons
Leadership needs a lot of work. There's been changes consistently for the better part of the last year, but honestly, nothing has improved. The worst part of the company is culture. It's pretty rotten at this point and I don't think there's much of a chance of a change in the upcoming months. There's much better places to work so I'd think twice before joining

Pros
The culture of the company is great. They want employees to feel appreciated and I believe that value definitely starts from the CEO on down.
Cons
Management is definitely an issue. It feels like an extension of high school, where management plays favorites with certain employees (and it's clearly obvious) because they are friends with them from outside the job. I've watched hard working people leave because they have gotten fed up with working hard and doing their job to the best of their ability, meanwhile there are other employees being taken care of by those above them just bea with. It's sad to watch hard working, more qualified based on performance, employees get over looked and not recognized because they aren't part of the management.

Pros
Lot's of great talent within the company, everyone always happy to help and drive things forward. Just recently wrapped up a big project involving multiple parts of the business and everyone worked together, delivering on time and above expectations. Huge company growth is bring opportunity and promotions, with some great talent being nurtured. Management generally listen and have SKIP reviews frequently. Going public hasn't really changed the culture of the company. Culture is important to the C-suite, constantly trying to encourage the 'one tenable' mantra. From a product perspective, the reinvestment in SecurityCenter is great to see. The cloud product has come on a lot over the last few years but a lot of our customers wanted to keep on SC, the reinvestment supports this. Great to have the founders still on board and driving change.
Cons
Although tools like Slack are enabling better communication across the org, it's sometimes tough to keep track of who's who.
