I worked at Tenaris full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Ability to move within the company, company training "university", accessibility of upper management, coworkers, health benefits

    Cons

It's who you know not what you know. Some people know how to manipulate their superiors

    Advice to Management

Take a closer look at your coordinators. If an area has a high turnover of multiple people a year for several years with HR involvement, investigate. They could be causing you to lose some highly talented people.

I have been working at Tenaris full-time

    Pros

Great experience with many opportunities to immerse yourself into the company. Most employees take their jobs seriously, and are willing to teach others.

    Cons

Company survives on a culture of employees having little to no work/life balance. While the hard work and dedication is recognized, employees who seek to put in 8-9 hour days will feel out of place.

    Advice to Management

To compete for the best American candidates out of universities, certain aspects including work/life balance and compensation will be need to be a focus of improvement. Today's generation of young professionals seek more balance and quality of life as opposed to professional achievement when compared to previous generations.

I worked at Tenaris (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good company benefits and pay

    Cons

Management is focused on the non-American employees. Replaces US employees with foreign nationals. Management bases decisions on international thinking and not on how things are done in the US.

    Advice to Management

    None. they will not listen

I worked at Tenaris full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - There are a lot of good people that work/use to work here. Overall, Tenaris recruits fairly well.
    - The GT program is fairly good as far as rotational programs go
    -Christmas party was fun.

    Cons

    - A large portion of the management are completely out of touch with reality. Since it’s a large foreign-owned company they do not seem very invested in there U.S. acquisitions other than the new Bay City facility.
    - The company has been going through major downsizing and has closed multiple facilities in the U.S. They did not provide severance pay or any other help.
    - There was a lot bureaucracy and red tape. It took me months to get software I needed for my job, and the purchasing system was a nightmare.
    - The company puts a lot of stake in your performance review, which can be pretty bad if your direct supervisor falls into the category of “completely out of touch with reality”
    - Pay is a little bit below average.

    Advice to Management

Need to do a better job evaluating who deserves to be promoted.

    Pros

The pay is pretty good, when the company is doing well and you bring value to the company and your team it's reflected through a company performance bonus as well as a individual performance bonus.
Very diverse group of people on most teams.

    Cons

It's oil and gas, so when that's not doing so well don't expect too much of a bonus, if it's really not doing well then make sure you're resume is up to date.
Communication from upper management isn't very good, although it has slightly improved.
While teams are diverse it seems that upper management all come from Argentina.

    Advice to Management

Communication still needs improvement from upper management. I fail to see how the direction of filling certain technical positions with contractors is in the best interest of Tenaris in the long term.
