I worked at Tenergy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Tenergy is a great company to catapult your career. The ideal candidate must be driven and goal oriented. There is a wealth of opportunity at this company and those who put in the hard work are rewarded for their efforts. Tenergy is not without problems, but management is continually evaluating strategies to fix them. Management is very good and really know the market/industry. I highly recommend Tenergy to anybody who is looking for a challenge and wants to be successful. The harder you work the more you will enjoy the fruits of your labor. There is plenty of room for growth and opportunities if one desires it. This company is very tight knit and has core family values. The CEO is very good and really values his employees. Tenergy offers very good benefits.

    Cons

There are stocking issues that sometimes arise. The ideal successful candidate will look for ways to solve them and work around them with the customer base. Those who can do so are highly valued assets to the company.

    Advice to Management

Keep on making Tenergy better and better. Address any and all issues to assist the sales team and growth opportunities.

I have been working at Tenergy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Tenergy is a very diverse company in product offering and culture. Lots of opportunity for lateral move and often promotes within. The company has recently made a lot structural and management change which tells me that the upper management is constantly reflecting and evaluating what is the best for this growing company. CEO holds the people of this company very dearly. As long as you show student mentally, great work ethics, the management team will recognize your potential thus compensates you appropriately and the CEO will personally make sure you have the opportunities for personal and career growth. On the other hand, if you show a sense of entitlement without putting in the work, you will receive the exact opposite treatment. Work/life balance is excellent and being overly cautious on some business opportunities actually makes the company stable. I think it’s a great company for people with families.

    Cons

Like all growing companies in transition, there will be chaos, uncertainty and inconsistencies. The company seems to lack focus on its value to the market thus making selling difficult. Sense of winning and accomplishments are hard to come by. Most departments show incompetency thus making it difficult to get things done for sales, this might be caused by hiring the wrong people for certain positions. The company overall lacks cohesiveness and most departments lack communication skills.

    Advice to Management

Be more aware of employee morale. Hire more carefully and act quicker once you realize someone is not at the right position. Play more to people’s strength. Hold individual managers to higher standard and be accountable for their teams’ results. All leaders/managers need to be on the same page and work toward one common goal cohesively.

I have been working at Tenergy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Independent work environment with the ability to control your own path at your own pace.
    - Super flexible scheduling. Traditional 9-5 with freedom to take time off for important events and appointments without any negative consequences (reasonably).
    - Warmhearted managers who actively work to see you succeed. Will give you ample time to get your footing in the company.
    - Solid support and guidance whenever you need it.
    - Friendly work atmosphere, with relaxed coworkers and management.

    Cons

    - Any cons related to 9-5 cubicle office positions (i.e., occasional boredom, eye soreness from staring at a screen day in and day out).

    Advice to Management

Continue to strive to building and developing employees of the future. If you care about the success of an employee's personal self, it will show through in the success of Tenergy.

    Pros

Not much can be said here. A lot of preference for certain races and the management were not competent not did they seem to care very much as long as they got their slice of the pie. Overall a terrible experience.

On the other side there were some nice people here.

    Cons

Almost everything. Incompetent leadership. Little room for growth. Meaningless work that did not feel satisfying. Little compensation. Overall just a very negative experience.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate management and preferential system of promoting.

I have been working at Tenergy full-time

    Pros

I have had the opportunities to directly help grow the company, which is very exciting for me. People with a strong work ethic and who are adaptable to change can be very successful at Tenergy. Many of the employees who have proven themselves are being rewarded with aggressive career advancements!

Tenergy is a grass-roots business, with nearly all local hiring and talent, and has developed and promoted its management team from within. I feel very fortunate and proud of what I have accomplished at Tenergy and seeing many of my co-workers’ professional growth.

    Cons

The company is very fast paced and the management does not always make enough effort to coordinate its actions. The managers tend rely on each employee to be a leader. People who cannot take up leadership roles and not produce results tend to get discouraged, which can lead to breakdowns...

Also, the market and the company is always evolving, so Tenergy is not the place for those who need consistency and simplicity.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on the people and providing a strong career path. My suggestion to the managers is to put more emphasis on planning than performing day-to-day tasks.

I worked at Tenergy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most employees are very friendly and willing to spend time to train you in different aspects of the job. Paid crash course at the beginning of employment to catch you up to speed with all of the company inner workings and battery knowledge.

    Cons

Niche sales channel with unspecialized inventory makes it difficult for the company to grow so there is some company stagnation. To be fair to the company, it started off as a trading company for batteries and has made much headway since its inception but lacks proper direction to formally address market needs or specialize.

Benefits are at best considered minimal and pretty old-fashioned style perks (kitchen, fridge, water cooler).

    Advice to Management

    good luck

    Pros

Good experience on becoming an independent, self sustaining individual within a workforce. CEO is a good person with the ability to inspire idealism and motivation.

    Cons

Professional development is nearly zero or you would have to really have the initiative to do it on your own. Opportunities are seemingly geared toward specific individuals with the appearance of favoritism in many cases. Several high level managers are not qualified for the positions that they currently hold and there are no consequences for their failures to produce. Company does not believe in transparency and instead withholds vital information from employees that need it in order to execute daily functions. Company talks like a medium size company, but still operates as a family owned small business.

    Advice to Management

Remove or replace mid-level management as they are not capable of providing necessary standards that should be self evident. Provide more training and professional growth opportunities. Since many of the people hired are straight out of college with no experience (relevant or otherwise) they need to be developed and then placed in an appropriate department that is suited to their talents. A genuine display of trust towards employees would be appreciated since the first question that is asked is, "Why do you need this?". Hire people that are capable of supporting one another instead of their own self interests.

    Pros

Coworkers are nice; fast developing business brings more opportunities.

    Cons

Management is unprofessional, even more, some management staff could not function; internal promotion is closely related to management personal preference and specific race rather than professional skills. Low salary and benefit packages.
