I worked at Tenet Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent team spirit, opportunities for advancement, resources to do one's job.

    Cons

The company did not understand the administrative responsibilities of a health plan organization. Ultimately, they withdrew from the market and provided (excellent) packages to employees.

    Advice to Management

Be open to input from all employees, not just management.

I worked at Tenet Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Family atmosphere. Generally fun-loving but very serious when there's work to be done.

    Cons

Reshuffling from regional to national marketing structure and a top-down executive change-out left many like me working for people ill-equipped to manage us to our full potential. A common problem not unique to Tenet.

    Advice to Management

The costs savings of eliminating the regional layer will never be realized. Micromanaging all the properties from one office is something they are simply not equipped or staffed to do. Adding a high-powered agency helps but they balked at the big-time NY agency advance required to begin work/media buys.

    Cons

*Sending employees home to meet budget-rarely get 40 hours
*Low end of.payscale compared to others
    *Hard to have vertical movement
*decisions are made in Dallas , not locally

    Advice to Management

    Increase pay
    Need employee retention

I worked at Tenet Healthcare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great Benefits and great coworkers.

    Cons

The pay is not very good compared to othercompanies. Local management tends to keep their employees in the dark about changes that are coming. Don't ever think that your job is safe, that you are a valued employee. Because you are not.

    Advice to Management

Corparate Management has no loyalty at all to employees that have been with them many years. They are so interested in building new facilities, and then can't afford to keep the employees that have stood by them through it.

I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Better than no job, but I would not recommend this company. There are lots of job openings.

    Cons

Home Office leadership are micro-managers. Leadership style is bullying, fear & intimidation. They demonstrate a complete lack of appreciation for their employees. They have no experience in healthcare. The level of executive turnover is extreme.

Would the last executive to leave Tenet please turn out the lights.

    Advice to Management

Get some coaches to teach you how to inspire and lead people.

I worked at Tenet Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Top tier, good salary, benefits and total compensation especially for Senior Management.

    Cons

Restructuring pains will last through 2020, then depending on economic outcome and Congress out years will see Tenet grow and benefit from scale and market synergies.

Providers, Nurses, Ancillary Staff are immune and key to success. Support and IT staff will experience lots of changes and volatility in reporting structures, job roles, and responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

Beware of rainbow in stripes! Learn from the past and sustain a long term culture that values employees, rewards them, and seeks their input for key changes..

I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Tenet is a great company with great employee benefits. My mobility and growth has been a bit limited but it probably has to do with structure versus lack of employee enrichment.

    Cons

Long hours, high expectations and limited growth.
