I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Growth opportunities, compensation, benefits, Fortune 200 company, lots of opportunities for growth at the home office

    Cons

Executives and upper management lack transparency and it's very political. It is hard to trust anyone.

I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Love my coworkers they are amazing.

    Cons

Low pay. Long hours. If there is no work you will be flexed off and not get all your hours. Never feel appreciated. All about making money rather than focusing on patient care. I'd rather make my patients happy and comfortable than line the pockets of the overpaid upper management.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees fairly. Show appreciation and make the work environment less stressful. Customers can tell when they are being cared for by people who aren't happy in their workplace and it reflects back on the business causing less referrals.

I worked at Tenet Healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Health Insurance, supportive team members, continuing education benefits, challenging work environment, 401k and general perks benefits, flexible hours and flexible work environment

    Cons

No room for growth, unsupportive upper management, low pay and very low merit raises, no compensation for advanced certifications, no retirement benefits, might have unsafe working situations

    Advice to Management

All nurses in critical care should be trained in all advanced skills. Units lack necessary education in comparison to other hospitals in the El Paso area. Open heart, Neuro, Impella, Balloon pump, and CRRT should be mandatory skills taught to all staff before working the unit.

I worked at Tenet Healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Salary, flexibility, and great coworkers.

    Cons

Unexperienced managers. Upper management can be very condescending. There is a lot of favoritism and racism is so blunt. Not a very professional environment. If you disagree with what they say, you will be frowned on and treated unfairly.

    Advice to Management

Treat all your employees with the same respect you want to be treated.

I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay and the insurance is good

    Cons

This may not be true across the board but at the Hilton Head Hospital location it's a very racist atmosphere. Nurses, physicians and guests turn up their noses to non white employees, and do not speak to them. Upper management including the "chaplain" have looked me directly in my face and did not speak but spoke to the white employee behind me. First chance I'm getting I'm running away from Hilton Head Hospital

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the good ole boy system and promote equality

"Micromanaging CNO. Understaffed. Unsafe for patients. Staff exhausted. Large management turnover Safety questionable"

I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The patient care staff is EXCELLENT. The nurses respect each other’s and will go above and beyond to help. Patient care staff honorable

    Cons

Large turnover I. Upper management, controlling micromanaging CNO who thinks he is the best at everything. Severely understaffed, allows nurses to work 21 hours straight and states “it’s cheaper to let the nurses work extra than to get travelers”. They allow the nurses to work exhausted simply for the bottom dollar

    Advice to Management

Trust your floor staff, stop dictating and ask for Input. Giving your personnel phone numbers to clients makes them thin you don’t trust the supervisors working directly with patient care. It doesn’t matter how many credentials you have-if you micromanage and don’t include others, that makes you an awful leader. Stop allowing patient care nurses work 21 hours straight and return to work after4 hours off. It... isnt safe.

I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Immediate staff and junior management is awesome, very supportive. Flexible with time off and understanding of life outside of work!

    Cons

Administration is BEYOND AWFUL. They are ONLY concerned about revenue. Demeaning and degrading to clinical staff. There is no leadership or mentoring provided from upper management and they keep junior management so busy with meeting they are not available to the clinics when needed.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your support staff try implementing their suggestions.

I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have a job to somewhat pay the bills. I know 2 amazing supervisors.

    Cons

Where to start?: -lack of communication from upper management to worker bees -employees put their name on other's work and then claim as theirs and get promoted to a higher level of management even though they are highly unqualified -harassment is a daily occurrence -moral is down the drain -favoritism! -micromanagement -lack of consideration for team members that know what they are talking... about -retribution/being forced to hate your job and leave -high turn over rate -unrealistic goals -no employee appreciation only tell you how bad everyone is doing -unethically asked to apply balances to patient responsibility when the EOB clearly defines otherwise. This can void a payer contract not to mention lead to litigation. -constantly being asked to perform another department's job -lack of training -long wait times to get your logins for all the systems you need access to -no consensus or general ground on any matter -no one is on the same page! -false management advertising; "bringing up moral and doing more work events together" never happened -upper management hardly speaks to employees -HR is oblivious to what is around them; yet they are the only ones who listen if people weren't too scared of retribution

    Advice to Management

Advice to Tenet Corporate Management: -Seriously look into the upper management in this building -Talk to everyday employees about what is happening in this building -Bring in a person to train employees on the system so they universally know the same things, then send them to their perspective departments to learn more about what they will be doing in that department -Seriously look into and truly see how upper... management neglects employees and do your own audits on accounts to see the unethical dilemma

I worked at Tenet Healthcare full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Smaller hospital so it had more of a family atmosphere.

    Cons

Upper management did not listen to employees. The almighty dollar always won the battle. Terrible supervisors/managers. High turn over rate and always understaffed and overworked

    Advice to Management

Happy employees = happy patients. Can't expect perfection 100% of the time. We are people too.

I have been working at Tenet Healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Competitive pay, very little travel, great co-workers, work from home most of the time

    Cons

Upper leadership is terrible!! Reactive and blame their teams. Directors do not even get along! Drowning in process that change whenever the upper management wants it to. Takes your vacation time for sick days. No time given back for excessive overtime worked. No appreciation for hard work. No opportunities for advancement unless your a director. HR is worthless...no follow through when issues are taken to them.

    Advice to Management

Support your team instead of using them as scapegoats. Get rid of your Directors and HR.
