    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Teradata full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Challenging position with lots of customer facing contact.

    Cons

Teradata seems to be very up and down with regard to keeping employees - lots of RIFs, and then boon to hire qualified people because the work force knows how fickle the company is with regard to hiring/laying of cycle.

    Advice to Management

Stop re-organizing so much - figure out who you are and where you compete successfully, and go that direction.

I worked at Teradata full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good work life balance and great technology

    Cons

Leadership constantly changes and it is not clear where the company is heading. Most likely it will be bought by some other company if there is another company willing to buy it.

I worked at Teradata full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good family life balance, good salary and benefits, good/cutting edge technology

    Cons

Leadership still has no clue. Company in transition, but many at the top are still old Teradata and that is their problem. Instead, they lay off folks and have been for a few years now as the "transition", but they are not even sure what to transitin to and certainly not capable of doing it themsleves...as they have no ecperience in doing so....

    Advice to Management

Take some actual management courses. Most managers/vps, etc. have come up thrugh the ranks....typical Peter Principle...My guess is they're positioning the company for sale...why else would you act this way?

    Pros

Historically great company. None better. Was and still is great database. Some of the best people you will ever know.

    Cons

Company leadership seems to be slipping into the same games as former management. Missed QTR expectations by double digits again yet somehow we are on transformation track. Sit on the front line. Silly.

    Advice to Management

Compliment the marketing hype with actually changing how we deliver. OBTW - get rid of Bain.
