The company promotes and fosters an environment suitable for women with the initiative Women@Terex. Special focus on values and doing business ethically. Excellent leadership.

    Cons

Having worked in other industries, I find Terex a place to stay for a long time. There is quality of life at Terex.

    August 27, 2019Director, Corporate Communications

Thank you for your comment, and for giving positive reviews of our CEO and the Company. And thank you for your five+ years of service to the Finance team! A key initiative at Terex is our talent review process, which includes the continuous development of team members - both those who are already with the Company and those joining from outside. One thing we recommend is to communicate with one's manager about career progression interests, and to also use our internal management system to list career goals and aspirations. Wishing you continued success in your journey.

I have been working at Terex full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Terex is committed to safety. This is demonstrated continuously. Additionally, Terex is committed to ethical business practices. There is no pressure to break the rules to make the numbers.

    Cons

Terex has been in a divestiture mode for over 5 years. It makes it hard to perform with the specter of layoff constantly lurking.

Thank you for your feedback. As we are sure you know, the Terex business strategy is “Focus, Simplify, and Execute to Win.” For the Focus element, beginning in 2016 the Company began assessing its legacy portfolio of businesses and retained – and invested in – those that have the strongest market positions and opportunities to grow long-term. The businesses we have going forward are leaders in their respective fields and are well-positioned for the future: Aerial Work Platforms, Materials Processing, Rough Terrain Cranes, and Tower Cranes. The Focus phase of our strategy is largely complete, and our emphasis now and into the future is Execute to Win – building on our achievements and executing our plans to become a top-performing, industry-leading organization for our team members, customers and shareholders.

I have been working at Terex full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Focused on continually improving the work, workplace, morale, and opportunities. Compared to most accounting jobs the work/life balance is excellent, and there is no "busy season".

    Cons

Some of the usual large company bureaucracy and "1 size fits all" policies. Being publicly traded means opportunity, but can require more work/hours at quarter ends.

I have been working at Terex full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Terex promotes a positive team environment, with active support from management. Flexible work arrangements are available, from working offsite to changing daily work hours to fit lifestyle. Many career growth opportunities available at this site, as well as other sites around the globe. Mentoring programs, business acumen and other initiatives strive to make employees well rounded and able to achieve personal professional goals. Good benefit packages and continuous work to be industry leader in leave times and flexibility. Opportunities to travel and explore tax, auditing and financial analysis all available. You can really make the most of your career and thrive here if you are willing to put in the time and effort!

    Cons

Flexibility within close periods can be difficult(about 4 days a month, can be long working days depending on issues that arise). Training relies heavily on managers; depending on your managers work load, you may be learning on the fly more than not.

I worked at Terex full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The safety and well-being of the team members is the highest priority to the company. More than a fair wage on the administrative side.

    Cons

The company is in the process of a merger assessment. The company values can change dramatically depending on which way they choose to go. There is significant overtime in all areas of the company so keep that in mind when searching positions if you want a basic 40 hour work week.

We appreciate your recognition of our commitment to safety. It's true that we are going through a time of change. On the one hand, that can be very exciting; on the other, it can be somewhat unnerving. We are optimistic that we are making good choices today that will lead to positive results for our customers going forward. Terex Human Resources

I worked at Terex full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Pay is very competitive since company is headquarter in CT near financial companies and nowhere near where anything is manufactured. Non-executive level Co-workers are great.

    Cons

Replaces staff with outsourcing companies using lower paid H1B employees. No work life balance. HR career paths and succession planning is non-existent. Constant cost cutting, no investment for growth.

Thanks for writing. It's true that focusing on a few key priorities and doing them well is the preferred way to work, and we certainly encourage our team members to do so. It's also true that in our cyclical and fast-passed business, we sometimes have to "juggle" a bit to keep everything moving and on track. However, overall, this tends to be the exception and not the rule. We believe that focus and accountability are the keys that will help us execute to win -- for our customers and our shareholders.
