I have been working at Terumo BCT for more than a year

    Pros

Working at TBCT has been a great experience! The work is meaningful and has a global impact. The people are smart, talented, helpful and great to work with. The company is an industry leader, profitable, innovative and treats its employees and customers very well. I highly recommend the company.

    Cons

Whatever issues come up, the company acknowledges and addresses them for improvement, so I can't think of any cons at the moment.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing!

"Company is outsourcing many important functions in the guise of driving 24-hour innovation."

I worked at Terumo BCT full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - If you’re an Indian company that provides cheap work around the clock, you have a good chance of replacing highly qualified talent. - The CEO is a great, motivational presence, but the company culture makes him and his executive team completely inaccessible. - Constant customer/patient focus drives a commitment to high-quality, but archaic, cumbersome processes often slow innovation, as well as productivity, to a grinding...

    Cons

    - More and more functions are being outsourced to India; this is sold as strategic “partnerships” that will drive innovation, but astute, talented employees see the writing on the wall and are starting to jump ship. - There is a general lack of recognition for good, hard work or accomplishments. The company recognizes this, and created several categories of internal awards. These all codified a culture of a very few getting...

    Advice to Management

Modernize. Allow employees to appraise their managers’ performance, and purge poor managers from the organization. Encourage genuine recognition for employees’ work and accomplishments.

I have been working at Terumo BCT

    Pros

The CEO is dynamic, energetic and engaged, the people who work for the company believe in what they are doing and are passionate about what is produced and delivered

    Cons

The company has grown and has not staffed to meet the demands of its size. With growth has come a massive set of priorities and no real focus on what needs to be done. Sometimes it seems like the hot thing at the moment, stop what you are doing, focus on this now.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to say, "NO," and communicate to the company what it needs to focus on.

    Pros

Good Products and good infrastructure. Quality is overall good.

    Cons

The work environment is very uncomfortable and stressful. Its not because of the work itself but because of poor management and how they treat their employees. The culture is very political and you have to be well liked by management to be successful. Your job security will depend on how well you are liked my management instead of your job performance. Too much power and authority is blindly given to management positions...

    Advice to Management

Put a higher premium on performance instead of pleasing someone at any cost just because of their position. Question and challenge ideas and decisions. Have the courage to stand up for what is right instead of being a "Yes" person.
