I worked at Terumo BCT full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people are passionate about what they do. The work is challenging and can be rewarding. The company's sense of mission is very strong and everyone is committed to fulfilling it.

    Cons

The part of the company I worked in is understaffed. They have gone through several different iterations of project-management processes, and that makes it hard to stay focused on whatever the current process is for the given project. This means that planning and management can suffer, with poor allocation of resources.

    Advice to Management

Provide better training to your middle managers. Hire more people, even contractors, to help reduce the workload for software developers. While it is nice to show appreciation to your employees, spending a large amount of money to buy Rockies tickets or rent out the downtown aquarium does not seem to be a way to meet financial goals to impress the parent company

I worked at Terumo BCT full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work one day from home a week. Good facilities except for cubicles. Two breakfast/lunch facilities on-site (although food is not that healthy or available for those with sensitivities). Gym on site. Light rail station. You can be half invested, disgruntled, and never worry about losing your job. The potential for large multinational projects.

    Cons

Why are people writing so many bad reviews? It looks on the surface like an awesome company. It feels great when you apply here. They sell it well. Then you dive in and work really hard on a project. Soon you start to feel weird about your place within the company. Management very rarely ever takes your advice, even though you were hired BECAUSE of your industry experience. The company is risk-adverse. Innovation...

    Advice to Management

Learn to lead. Stop managing. You have sanitized your workplace to the point of making it bland. Your balanced scorecard initiatives are not making you an industry leader or market success. You think that if you are successful then your employees will feel or buy into your success. Learn to make your employees be and feel successful. Get rid of the nearly all of the entire IT upper management. They are so bad at...

I have been working at Terumo BCT

    Pros

good people, friendly and open atmosphere, humor is appreciated, knowledgeable seniors, croos functional nature fosters all round growth

    Cons

slow growth , random promotions, bad review criteria, too much importance to inter-personal relations rather than technical skills, venture capitalists

    Advice to Management

Make promotion criteria more objective. Currently its largely at the discretion of manager. Salary is on an average atleast 10-15% less than market.
