    Pros

The company makes excellent medical devices

    Cons

Supervisor or management team are horrible because they pick and choose who they like for the job, not based on skills.

    Advice to Management

They need to go back and get the right education in order to run a company, and they also need to learn how to treat their employees better. They have all these training, and emphasize on the important of working together as a team or being a team player ; however, the supervisor did an extremely poor job in helping to keep the peace within the company. They help to make it into a hostile environment to work with or for.

I worked at Terumo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They offer a good salary for an foreign office and international conference experience is a plus and company benefits are good.

    Cons

Have to beg for training, be it on products or professional training.
No career training or advancement opportunities for foreign employees, only Japanese management with very poor language skills and even worse professional cross-cultural abilities.
Extremely difficult communication and thus troublesome business dealings.
Initiative is not encouraged. Absolute Bureaucratic organisation.

    Advice to Management

Do not send rejected & disgraced (plain pathetic) Japanese employee to manage a foreign office, it is insulting!! Consider employing local managers in foreign office to enhance business in local language and culture and prevent conflict and embarrassment. Local managers have more knowledge about local laws and regulations regarding business and medical environment and is easier accepted in business dealings. Be more flexible, employees DO have their own good ideas.
